4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’m excited and scared to try this. I’ve heard great things about mikkeller, but so far I’m 0/2 with trying their beers.
Pours hazy dark copper with big fluffy cream-colored head. Big aroma of a good IPA: grapefruit, pine, and hint of caramel. Nice full mouthfeel, a touch on the chewy side. Great flavor that starts with a woody and citrussy bitterness on the tip of the tongue, grapefruit aroma is replaced with a orange peel and ripe sweet orange, piney, a bit of caramel and a lot of white bread. Just a bit of pepper from the alcohol, but not at all hot or boozy. Finishes with a great hop bitterness that balances the beer well. I expected something over the top, unpleasant, and puckering based on the name and the last beers that I tasted from Mikkeller, but this is a very nice finish. There’s also just a touch of malty sweetness to accompany the bitterness in the end. Leaves a dirty bitterness - like apple peel-for the aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle at Gents Bierfestival. Very hoppy offcourse, earthy, tropical, mango, very strong bitterness. Absolutely love this one. Don’t drink anything else after this though, because your palate will be shipwrecked.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
APPEARANCE - Opaque, cloudy, foamy, lots of lacing, sediment, amber 4FH that really lasts.
AROMA/SCENT - Hops, pine.
TASTE - Hops, bitter, nutty, pine, coffee.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Thick, smooth, very lingering, warming, very frothy.
VALUE - $9.60 for an 11-oz bottle. A bit pricey, even for an import.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - 1,000 IBU is an advertising gimmick, but this beer is worth a try. It is bitter, but that’s mostly because it’s not malty at all, just zero sweetness to it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy red, beige head with good retention. Super sweet aroma with dank hops and a touch of alcohol. Taste: a classic rich maltiness of a really big IPA, followed by a huge grassy and pungent bitterness, with alcohol adding to the spice. Very full body, yet not at all sticky. Could be a marketing gimmick, but in the end it is a well constructed big IPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very nice ruby, dark amber a bit hazy color. Nice head and lacing. Aroma: full of tropical fruits, mango, citrus, grapefruit and resin with caramel. Taste: hoppy, with earthy tones, tropical fruits mainly mango. Bitterness is really nice and strong but not lasting, it has really nice resin finish without malty base, but after a while You could taste some caramel notes. Medium carbonated and semi dry with noticable sweetness. Really good and bitter beer,

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a deep amber with a medium white head that lasts and leaves a lovely lacing. Aroma is ripe fruit (tropical), piney hops, very slight malts and you can almost smell the bitterness. Taste is sweet biscuit, mango, over-ripe pineapple with a mammoth bitter hop kick at the end. A very well balanced beer and an absolute must for any hop head. Comparable to some of the big American DIPAs.
