Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.

The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!
Ingredients : Water, malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade, ale yeast and champagne yeast.

Bottle, thanks mgumby. Black with a milky white cap on the top. Silky looking. Alcohol forward nose but does not detract from the oil of bergamot, patchouli, and roasted malt aromas. Very chocolatey, roasty flavors with cinnamon. Overall, killer shit!

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a DARK BLACK, no light is comming through this thing.....Barely get a sign of Ruby on the edges when holding up to a light. Dark Tan head with great retention. Aroma will knock you on your butt!!!!! It can be compared to VERY strong Dark roast and Jet Fuel (Thanks Bu11zeye & Lumpy for mentioning that during tasting) Flavor much the same....It’s like taking a shot of liqour. Also had a high bitter that seemed to just live on your toung for 10 min. while even eating. Palate is Very Full bodied with low-medium carbonation.....I liked this shit!!!!!!! It is a sipper!.....Hard to Drink, but HELL Yeah!!! A beer with balls!!!!!!! I don’t normally talk like this but this is some hardcore stuff....store it for 5 years if you want, don’t think it will make that much difference. This is a beer that doesn’t want to be balanced........!!!!! Give some to your Miller lite drinking friends and watch them cringe! I wander how much this would be per gallon, can probably run your car and give anyone driving behind you a nice buzz.....

Bottle. Poured blacker then black with a massive brown foamy head. Aroma. wtf? Taste. wtf? No seriously, wtf? I mean..... wtf? ok.... fine.... Aroma of burnt wood and molasses, coffee, and bitter chocolate... of course alcohol. Tastes of roasted wood, strong stuff, alcohol., and more strong stuff. I had to chase this with an expedition. wow. crazy. I’d like to try when I’m 84. thanks.

Bottle 鶷 ml), thanks gnoff. Intense black with a rich creamy beige head. Aroma is a wild mixture of tar, coffee, molasses, and the characteristic Mikkeller green peppers, in no harmony whatsoever. Medium bodied and very smooth. Cloyingly sweet and brytallu bitter at the same time. Ridiculously unbalanced, could not finish my sample. Will perhaps be more drinkable in some years to come.

(Tasted twice at Pikkulintu, on 2008-04-18 and on 2008-04-22 ) Pitch black. Good sized brown head. Alchol and some fruitiness in nose. Alcohol in palate. Fruity taste containing black currant flavours. Some chocolate. Roasted malts which give some bitterness. Light sweetness. Hops. Too young, probably.

Black color, brown head. Salty, roasted, chocolate, coffee and alcohol scent. Oak, dry, malty, roasted, alcohol taste. Hot warming alcohol feeling. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Some dandelion inside (when you lick it). There were 7 of us on this, we didn’t finish the bottle. My wife ended up drinking it to her pizza. Nice smell, but the taste was very harsh and very unbalanced, I’d say for my part it’s very overrated at the moment while this young.

Black color, brown head. Smoother scent than last time, but all the more so a smooth taste than last time. Still way too evident alcohol in both scent and taste. Also the harshness and the roasted is too much for me. It’s easier to "drink" than last time, but we still poured most of it out.

Pours an oily opaque with dark mahogany edges and a spotty-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of rich, sweet caramel and dark chocolate with a good amount of licorice and molasses. Body starts dense and dark malty sweet with a big amount of burning alcohol toward the finish. Also has some lingering dry roasty notes and bittersweet dark chocolate. Sort of a brute-force, over the top imperial stout that doesn’t really have the finesse of a Dark Lord or Expedition. Nonetheless, all the malt and alcohol fumes help to boost the aroma. I’d say the peak will come in 10 to 30 years, not 1 to 3 years.
