4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Nightfall (1280) - Hamburg, GERMANY - NOV 23, 2011
During Mikkel’s and Thomass’ visit in Athens, Oct 2009. Pitch black, very small brown head. Lovely peated smoke aroma (I Love peated smokiness), dried fruit, some ash. Flavours of peat, sh,wood, dried, fruit, alcohol (nut not in a disturbing way). I absolutely loved it, didn’t find it that extreme and it is amazingly drinkable for 17.5 % !!

Huge thanks to daknole!!! Bottle pours deep brown/black with no head. Aroma shows heavy roast, iodine, cigar ash, bandaids and peat. Flavor shows the same with salted meat, chocolate, and nice warming booziness. Overall body is full and viscous. A little intense but I like it!
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Jade (385) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2010
Wow. Very dark brown to black with no carbonation or head. Strong aroma of roasted coffee. Considering the ABV, this is velvety smooth. Definite coffee, and touches of chocolate. Warming sensation. Fantastic stout.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Countbeer (2920) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - APR 30, 2013
Bottle:
No head. Black pour. Black beer.
Aromas of cognac, spices, whiskey, sweet, light liquorice, vanilla.. Much more as it is deep and complex, but right now I am enjoying it.
Flavours of chalk, earth, roast, bitter, spices, coal, light tar, light whiskey and vanilla notes, a nice warmth but not really alcoholic.
Again, much more as it is deep and complex and heart warming, but there must be a moment to enjoy this beer and quit making these long ratings...
Aftertaste is bitter, spicy, sweet and sticky. Lovely complex
No carbo, soft mouthfeel, full body and a somewhat watery sticky texture.
Very easy drinkable yet complex. The alcohol in this one didn’t annoy at all! Lovely beer!
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 gyllenbock (3022) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 21, 2013
Bottle.
Black with no head. A lot of smoke, ash and peat both in the aroma and taste. Also wood, roasted malt and tar. Heavy but a great beer to sip.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 hopscotch (8242) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 15, 2010
Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours as black as midnight with a bubbly, dark brown head. The aroma is not nearly as scalding hot as either the base beer or the whiskey barrel edition. Nice aroma of dark chocolate, toasted almonds, cashews and big-time peat smoke. Full-bodied with a super creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Sweet and so very smooth. A good bit smoky then a slow, sweet fade. All rough edges are vanquished by the barrel. A completely different beer – there is practically no heat here, yet the ABV remains the same as the base beer and whiskey barrel edition. Almost no alcohol or hop bitterness. Dangerously drinkable. An automobile accident waiting to happen. Amazing. Kudos go out to plovmand for sending this world class brew across the pond!
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 JorisPPattyn (7363) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - APR 1, 2010
No head on an oil-like pouring black
liquid, with orange and red flames. Gorgeous nose of whisky, alcohol, turf, burning wood or charcoal, speculoos, toffee. Again charcoal, fiery alcohol, fusels, black chocolate, wild mushrooms. Warming up, gets an impression of resiny firbranches, and even later and warmer, honey-smoked ham. Not very thick, but oily in pouring, alcoholwarming as none, sticky on the lips. Vanilla and rosewater in the aftertaste. Another absolute superb whiskybeer. Congrats to Mikkel for this achievement!

Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Black coolour, not much head. Aroma is caramel, wood, alcohol, some fudge and rather peated notes as well. Flavour is wood, some alcohol, peat and rather nutty and vanillaish notes. Nicely "built-up" black by not too long time in the barrels. Really pleasant.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2009
A Mes rate. Bottle at 1st Borefts Beer Festival. Black as night and despite the heady abv, it’s still holding onto a thin tan head.
poo the bed this is HUGE. So much whisky and a truckload of peaty, malty blackness. I can just about detect some fruity notes and the heavily sugared coffee of the "basic" version but generally its just huge malt, very smoky whisky and a bit of oak. Way over the top yet excellent. Bravo.

RBESG 2010, Grand Tasting, bottle Black color, oily appearance. Mild aroma of smoked malt, roasted malt, dust, chocolate, Amaro herbs. Luscious body, strong, thick, sweet; powerful caramel and chocolate flavor, with very nice smoke touch. And the alcohol is well hidden. Great.
