Aromas of cognac, spices, whiskey, sweet, light liquorice, vanilla.. Much more as it is deep and complex, but right now I am enjoying it.
Flavours of chalk, earth, roast, bitter, spices, coal, light tar, light whiskey and vanilla notes, a nice warmth but not really alcoholic.
Again, much more as it is deep and complex and heart warming, but there must be a moment to enjoy this beer and quit making these long ratings...
Aftertaste is bitter, spicy, sweet and sticky. Lovely complex
No carbo, soft mouthfeel, full body and a somewhat watery sticky texture.
Very easy drinkable yet complex. The alcohol in this one didn’t annoy at all! Lovely beer!

Black with no head. A lot of smoke, ash and peat both in the aroma and taste. Also wood, roasted malt and tar. Heavy but a great beer to sip.

Botella hjá Cecil Kongur, Vársmakkking 13. Pitch black colour. Sweet peat roasty malty dark fruity woody aroma. Good mouthfeel. Peat indeed, sweet, smoke roasty malt, dark fruits, dry. woody.

Bottled. Thanks Pinball for the gift. Pours jet black with a small brown head. The aroma is hard roasted malts, tar, peat, charcoal and smoke. The flavor is charcoal, peat, sweet malt, hops, caramel and hard roasted malt. Rather sweet smoked overall.

Vintage 2009. Pours an opaque black. Smells of peat. Sweet and bourbony with an extreme heavy peat punch. Also aromas of port. Soft and mellow. Full bodied. oft carbonation.

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is roasty liquorice goodness, some wood and peat.
Flavour is deep liquorice extract with a huge roasty bitter malt, burned chocolate and ash, all covered in a woody peaty whiskey awesomeness. Some throatburn in the finish. Hefty but great beer.

Bottle Jet black color, aroma is full of alcohol, molasses and malts. Some dark, ripe fruits and some peaty influences. Really intense alcohol burning after swallowing. Pretty decent barley wine. Surely this delivered a knockout blow. Heavy alcoholic, great sipper.
