Pours black with a big brown head.
Nice aroma of malt, hops and some whiskey.
After drinking it a while the taste gets to sweet and dominated by whiskey.

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a medium sized tan head. Leaving a fair lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, figs, wood, vanilla, whiskey and licorice notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with an alcohol burn. Full bodied, oily text and soft CO2. A very nice impy. ★★★★

Bottle from Beer Merchants. Black pour with a tan head. Dark chocolate, coffee, raisins, vanilla and caramel aromas. Flavours of dark chocolate, smoke, licorice, oak and wood. Peaty. Huge alcohol burn. Long deep finish of sweet malts and licorice.

Bottle, big thanks to Trevor211. Black. Touches of hazed brown head. wispy. Nose is aged coffee and toffee caramel. Some light peat and scotch hotness. Funky barnyard, cowpies and guersney cheese. Lovely and stinky. Fruit leather. body though is hugely balanced and improved by the barreling. Still hugely heavy and sticky. But is a bit unblended and hot at the finish. Would love some aging. Really terrific and interesting development!

Pours pitch black with tan head, nose is oaky with a hint of whiskey and ash. Taste is over the top hot, tons of flavor, beaten up with booze.

2009 Bottle. Black with a small, light brown head. Aroma: smoke, coffee, port, wood. Taste, lots of alcohol, port, sweet and salty, bitter coffee, chocolate, licorice, oak, some red wine. Thick and oily. Shows potential, but a bit too rough. I’d definitely want to try an aged version in a few years.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2011 Pitch black, dark brown head. Very sweet, hopped chocolate and roasted coffee. Taste is also very sweet roasted coffee and chocolate. Nice maybe a bit too overwhelming sweetness. Hops get trough pretty good in the end, good dryness.

Bottle @ home. Black body with a large brown head. Aroma is carcoal, smoke, wood, alcohol, roasted malt, whisky. The first sip was pure alcohol, it becomes better though, caramel, smoke, tobacco, roasted malt, oak, whisky.
