3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I like this style: so bias declared. But this is boozy. Nose is promising, look is great, taste is boozy and palate a little acidic. As a sipper instead of a brandy, or your after dinner preference, it will work. Shame it’s not a slight more rounded and balanced. But hey thank goodness we don’t all like the same.n

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
18.1% bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A jet black beer pours with a quickly disappearing brown tan head. It has very rich whisky, vanilla, oak and chocolate flavours followed by very strong, warming liquorice more oak and whisky on the finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Always love the boozy beers. Color is dark black. Vanilla and coffee are the stars of the show. Heavy feeling in the mouth but an excellent aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge boozy aromas of licorice, port, and sweet coffee. Pitch black. More alcohol in the taste with a chewy texture. Flavors of vanilla, coffee and sweet grapes. Good but needs more depth.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2014 7 5 9 5 15 On tap @ Kulminator, Antwerp. Oil black, beige head. Roasted coffee and chocolate dominate the nose and taste, along with sweet red wine, softening malts and a strong boozy burn. Quite bitter (roasted/cacao-bitter, not primarily hoppy), lingering aftertaste. Very thick and oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation, huge body.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark as the night and with a thick and sticky brown head. Aroma of dried fruits, coffee, alcohol and chocolate. Very nice and complex taste with lot’s of coffee, dark chocolate, raisins and some pleasant bitterness in the end. This is a massive beer

Taste is extra sweet, lightly bitter, vanilla, caramel, cocoa, coffee, red fruits, roasted malt. Extra long, very sweet, coffee finish. This is a desert, extra nice beer.

3.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by jheath99.. Pours black with frothy tan head. Aroma of booze. Flavors of coffee and booze. Bitter, boozy finish. It was almost too much of a boozy flavor for me. Decent beer, but I prefer something more complex.
