The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!
Ingredients : Water, malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade, ale yeast and champagne yeast.

Not a beer for someone new to craft beer, or even imperial stouts for that matter. Just a brilliant stout, great sipper in the winter.

On tap. Black with thick bubbly beige head. Deep coffee aroma and chocolate. Alcohol isnít very noticeable. Sweet chocolate and less coffee taste. Slight cherry too. Can taste the alcohol a little more then the aroma. Very thick palate. This beer is excellent and the head doesnít go away. 17,5 % and served on a , 5 L in Warsaw, glad I got the ,25.

On tap in Brewdog Cardiff. Pours black with a frothy dark head, which lasts for forever. Aromas are coffee, chocolate, burnt malts and wood, liquorice, dark fruits, alcohol. This is very strong and it?s not brilliantly balanced. There is a long, burnt-bitter finish, not very pleasant and lasting 10 minutes or more after a sip. There?s a good dose of dark sugar sweetness but the coffee bitterness and alcohol are dominant. Very full body and tingling, slick mouthfeel. I was disappointed to be honest and have a bottle in my collection yet to drink, which I hope is more pleasant.

Aroma: dry plum, cherry, cocoa, coffee, caramel, roasted nuts, chilli; Appearance: pitch dark brown, large foamy brown head; Taste: heavy bitterness, medium sourness, medium sweetness; Palate: average carbonation, long finish, thick texture, full body A sense of the absolute in beer :-) Engages full mouth in tasting, extremely intense aroma. Perfect balance. Whole array of tastes condensed in one single beer.

From old notes, tasted with Curtis and some friends in Nashville, probably some time near the summer of 2012, from a corked and caged 375mL bottle. Pours completely opaque black with no head at all. The nose is black strap molasses, espresso, and tons of dark chocolate. The flavor is sweeter with milk chocolate, lightly bitter black strap molasses and espresso, and barky dark chocolate. The body is massively full and creamy with no carbonation and a long dark chocolate and bitter espresso finish.

Tap from brewdog bar, Sheffield. Pitch black with a stodgy tan head. Smell is chocolate, rum, powerful alcohol hit. Taste is rich and sweet with a lasting bitter aftertaste, also leaves a slight numbing cocain taste in the mouth. Full bodied with a decent amount of oil.

Wow. Thick as oil. Poured from 12.7oz bottle at Lakehouse. Pitch black with off white head. Sweet almond and chocalate aroma. Dry and malty. Dirt. Raisins cocoa almonds and simply chalky dry. It is way drinkable for the high ABV. I could pound about 6 of these before peeing my pants face down asleep

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a beautiful mocha head, leaving a fantastic lacing while it disappears (and while one drinks). Aroma: chocolate, caramel, one can feel the alcoholic aroma. Taste: Wow! A burst of chocolate, dark malts, raisins, alcohol (pleasant), sweetness (probably from the sugar theyíve used). It is really thick - you almost need a fork. Palate: warming (although the 16% ABV is very well hidden!), it leaves a bitter aftertaste on the tongue, which stays for a long time. The latter feature is actually something that disturbes me here. Not sure it is a characteristic of my bottle of the beer as a whole. But even with this "disadvantage" - one of the best beers I have ever had.

Bottle: Welp, itís black. Looks oily, too. Brilliant sheen across the top that reflects lots of light. No "head", just some deep tan bubbles that layer themselves across the top. Aroma is full of deep roastiness, heavy booze, bitter dark chocolate, prunes, soy sauce, & a strong residual sweetness resembling charred brown sugar.. if that makes sense? Mild anise. Taste is... Wow. Almost too much. Heavy. As. Fuck. So much booze, so much sweetness. Notes of alcohol, Kikkomanís finest, super-sweet chocolate, cloying brown sugar, light smoke & charred, roasty malt, & the faintest touch of milkiness on the back of the tongue. Thick, semi-viscous body that coats your palate like a primer. Such a big beer. Itís not bad, per se, but itís just so damn unnecessary. Itís lacks the longevity of other "extreme" beers like Utopias, so thereís never really a time to drink this. Iíve had other 17%+ beers that were much smoother & easier to drink. This is a bomb.
