Tap @ Kaisla. Black. Winelike aroma with coffee and licorice. A long burnt after taste. Leaves the mouth dry. Slightly immature but still a great beer.

PunkAGM2015 rate catchup from notes. 6/6/15. OMFG. There is a sequence of photos of my face as I tasted this for the first time. F**ked up. Awesome. It has everything and keeps on giving. Sweet and bitter, sharp and smooth, smoky and clean, spicy and savoury. What an experience.

Well the name fits, the beer is black with a brown caramel head. Smell: Coffee, burned sugar, perhaps molasses. leather, alcohol. Taste, whoa. Nice carbonation, oily and perhaps a bit creamy mouthfeel. First it tastes sweet followed by a big heap of bitterness. After a few sips the bitterness appears a bit less and the sweet part lingers a bit more. Dark fruits, coffee, molasses, bitter chocolate, burnt malts. more chocolate. The aftertaste is long and bittersweet with some alcohol taste. Lovely and amazingly complex beer.

My first 5! Not really sure what beer button this doesn’t push. An aroma full of liquorice , coffee, chocolate and tobacco. The flavour is sweet, then sour, then bitter, with a final cuddle of spice and alcohol. Mikkeller make imperial stouts better than anyone else.
