The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!
Ingredients : Water, malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade, ale yeast and champagne yeast.

Egyértelműen a kedvencem, még akkor is, ha egy üveggel a kedvenc helyemen éppen 2.500,- Ft.

0.375l bottle. Pitch black body, creamy brown head. Aroma of chocolate, earty hops, smoke and some sulfur. Taste of chocolate, coffee, milk, orange, smoke and loads of floral hop bitterness. Nice one, but the finish is a bit too bitter for me. Massive beer, that’s for sure.

Dark as the night and with a thick and sticky brown head. Aroma of dried fruits, coffee, alcohol and chocolate. Very nice and complex taste with lot’s of coffee, dark chocolate, raisins and some pleasant bitterness in the end. This is a massive beer. Got a bit tipsy I must admit

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, Stockholm. Pours a light-sucking blakc with a low tan head. Aromas of dark-roasted coffee, dark chocolate, muscovado sugar, liqourice, slight leather and tobacco tones. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, slight liqourice, brown sugar, dark dried fruit. Mouthfeel is quite coarse and dry with no carbonation. Aftertaste is dark bitter chocolate and coffee. Yes, I know there’s no actual coffee in this beast, but it sure feels like it!

Barwa: czarna, nieprzejrzysta nawet pod światło. Piana beżowa / jasno brązowa, obfita, drobno pęcherzykowa, utrzymująca się i ładnie oblepiająca szkło. Całość jest gęsta i oleista. [5/5] Aromat: zdecydowanie słodki, czekolada (jakby czekoladki z likierem), ciemne słody, kakao oraz nuta alkoholowa. Smak: bardzo pełny i słodki z goryczkową i nieco ściągającą kontrą. Wspomniana czekolada, melasa, lekka kwaskowość podobna do szampana oraz zdecydowana alkoholowa końcówka ogrzewająca przełyk przez długi czas, niemal drapiąca. Legenda Mikkellera.

Bottle pour at home. Pitch black pour but not as thick as I'd feared. Thin tan but lasting head with lots of lacing. Aroma is interesting - deep roasty malts but with a sweet alcohol smell too, like a fruity sweet white wine. Taste is similar. Huge alcohol taste explosion at first - again like moscato or something - followed by maltiness and then slightly bitter finish with lingering alcohol and sweet wine flavor. Overall far more drinkable and pleasant once you get used to the sweetness. Almost as if you made a Black and Tan of half stout, half sweet wine.

I was pretty sure I was going to like this beer from the start, having had nothing but quality from the gypsies at Mikkeller. It poured with next to no head and was the deepest black as advertised. The aroma reminded us instantly of port wine, aged and sugared grapes, alcohol soaked raisins or honey. The taste was of sweet raisins, developing into coffee with a bitter aftertaste. Lovely sweet and creamy velvety body, and the bottle was empty far too soon.

Bottle. Jet black dense oily pour. Big roasted malts and quite boozy. Damn, this is a monster. Dense palate.

On tap, Chmielarnia Pub, Warsaw, Fall 2013. Aroma: smells like wine really... toast notes, cereal and chocolate, boozy in the background Appearance: thick and oily, pitch black Taste: what to focus on here? might appear slightly unbalanced, but: coffee grains, cocoa and loads more Palate: rich, thick, oily as hell, burning from alcohol, extremely long bitter and coffee aftertaste Overall: fantastic, an experience to put between beer and rum... or whisky maybe.

KombatAle (116) - New Brunswick, CANADA - APR 22, 2014
37.5 cl bottle Black, brown small foam. Spicy roasty aroma. Full palate, oily texture, too extreme taste in the way of spicy black pepper and roasted malts, a lot of alchool, harsh! difficult to drink...
