The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!
Ingredients : Water, malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade, ale yeast and champagne yeast.

Pitch black color with a big brown head. Roast aroma with lots of dark fruits. Taste is really bitter, coffee, burnt something, liquorice, some chocolate, alcohol notes, something really burnt, like a burnt pizza. Full body with medium carbonation. Really strange beer.

Damned if this beer hasnít been staring me down for months! Do I feel like having a beer with the bite of three today? Nope. Freakie Tiki mentioned it was like drinking gasoline, so, how about today? Nope. Today? Ummmm...nope. Well today is the day. Iíll be interested to see how it will compare to the only other similar beer Iíve had to this one, Dogfish Headís World Wide Stout. Pours midnight-fear black with a poop-in-my-underwear brown head. And was that a chunk sliding into my glass on the pour? No man, take it easy, just a bubble. Ya, ya, just a bubble. Head breaks down to a big bubble ridden sheet. It looks good. And not just saying that to butter up this beast, uh, I mean beer. Oh itís sneaky. "What booze," its nose innocently says, "all youíll smell is chocolate coffee heaven. No booze here. Go on take a sip. Youíll be fine." With a trembling hand, a dust-dry mouth I take a sip. Wow. Lots of coffee, burnt and roasted malts, surprisingly sweet, maybe a little cloying, burnt bitterness after. But the booze hides. Itís lost in the front behind all those big flavours. But it rolls through the aftertaste and gives you a smack. This is a big beer, donít know if the balance is there. Itís malts feel a little to harsh, and itís a little sweet. What was I afraid of? Though I havenít gotten to that "chunk" at the bottom. Wait did something just move in there? Ahhh...!!!

Draught. Pitch black with a generous, smooth, lasting coffee coloured head. Loads of lacing around the glass. Aroma of chocolate, tobacco, dark fruits, leather, alcohol. Taste is of coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, vanilla, blackcurrant. Warming alcohol on the finish but not dominant. Light carbonation, sticky, chewy mouthfeel. Great stuff.

Butelka 375ml (26.06.2024). Barwa czarna, piana brazowa, gesta, obfita, mega oblepiajaca szklo. Aromat glownie alkoholowy z nuta czekolady w tle. W smaku tez mocno alkoholowe, nuty sherry, palone i czekoladowe daleko w tle, slodki posmak. Piwo mega tresciwe, oleiste, na granicy pijalnosci, alkohol przykrywa prawie wszystko z malutkim kwaskiem po ogrzaniu. Goryczka duza, alkoholowa, palona. Piwo ok ale alkoholu troche za duzo.

z kranu, Jabeerwocky. na megaszybko: z jednej strony super RIS z wieloma fajnymi cechami (np wielka intensywnoscia aromatow i smaku) a z drugiej strony... wykreca twarz alkoholem. Sumarycznie: nie dla mnie.

2013 version on tap at BrewDogís Aberdeen pub. Rlack body with a very, very durable and creamy light brown head. Boozy, intimidating aroma. Flavor: alcohol is a major part of the flavor profile, but this is an extremely rich ale, with a huge load of malts and plenty of hops. Low level of burnt grain/char. So strong (taste and ABV) it takes some adjustment. hidden in the taste. Medium-full body with near medium carbonation.

[7045-20150206] Bottle. Woody burnt wine barrel aroma. Black body with a medium-lasting foamy tan head. Burnt boozy barrel wood flavour with a long heavily sweet aftertaste. Full body. Good but really heavy. (8/3/8/4/15) 3.8

Pitch black beer and beige head on top. Aroma is really boozy, some fruits come up maybe from the champagne yeast and roasted aromas are well present. Taste has roasted malts, same fruit that was in the aroma and well lots of booze. Full body and medium carbonation. Way too much booze for my taste, but I liked the fruit flavour that comes from the champagne yeast.

Black as night with a persistent tan head, Mikeller black is extremely dry considering the abv. Lingering bitterness contrasts the burnt caramel backbone. High presence of herbal aromas, purple basil and coriander along with anise and white pepper. Obviously big 90% chocolate and Kenyan coffee also, with the earthy and red berry taste that define them. Difficult to really qualify, this beer had to be experienced, as it warms up, fine vanilla and oak undertones mix with the burnt sugar to give it a very full taste. Does not at all feel like 17%, more like 11-12. Will most definitely benefit from a couple of years of cellaring.

Beczka. Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana beżowa, niewysoka utrzymująca się do końca. Aromat zdecydowanie palony, kawowy, czekoladowy. Wygląd zewnętrzny: bardzo lepka, oleista ciecz. W smaku słodycz, czekolada, kawa. Ładnie grzeje w przełyk, pozostawiając lekko kwaskawy posmak na podniebieniu. Goryczka zdecydowanie wysoka, lekko zalegająca i drapiąca. Czuć moc alkoholu ale bardzo pasuje do tego trunku. Świetne piwo, warte sprůbowania.
