37,5cl bottle at Grünerløkka brygghus (Mikkeller tap takeover). Intense aroma with roasted malt, dark and bitter chocolate, licorice and hints of herbs and alcohol. Raw, fairly bitter and very flavourful. Dry and surprisingly bitter. Intense and quite interesting, but a bit raw for my taste, would like aged some more and not so fresh I guess. Still a fantastic brew and quite delicious.

Pours dark & sinister into the glass with a lush foam cap the colour of brown sugar. This is a ridiculous beer & at 17% it has to be the booziest brew this bar fly has tried. It’s actually quite silly: over cooked coffee & syrupy sugar & enough booze to make Charles Bukowski blush, it’s more like drinking on a dare than it is sipping to enjoy. Like a tarantula on a slice of angel food cake, there’s nothing subtle here. And that’s what is so fun about it. Recommended (at least to try once).

Bottle from LCBO. Aroma of roasted barley, coffee, cherries, raisin, and surprisingly no booze. Not port-like, like the other big boozy beers I’ve had. Chocolate, coffee, earthy, cherry, with a massively bitter finish. Amazingly no alcohol in the taste. Would have guessed max 12%. Different, and pretty good, but not mind blowing.

Black pour, very large brown head. Super boozy nose, loads of charred burnt malts. Subtle dark fruit, loads of coffee, soy and black pepper. Incredibly oily mouth feel, with a surprisingly lively carb. The finish is incredibly bitter with long lingering booze and bitterness. This could definitely use some age. This is just alot of charred, burnt malts, with alot of booze.

Tap @ Taphouse, Copenhagen 141024. Roasted malty and sweet with lots of chocolate and coffee, alcoholic notes, full body with an oily to creamy texture. The finish is really dry and really bitter with roasted and alcoholic notes and coffee. A nice aroma and taste but a really unpleasant finish which is too dry and too bitter!

Tap. Tried a few times and at this time it was the worst. Glue, alcohol and black malts on nose. Sharp in taste. Overcarbonated, ordinary and aggresive one with extreme bitter aftertaste. Unballanced and exaggerated beer - disappointment.

Tap @ Cuda na Kiju. Pours completely black with a thick tan head which sadly dissapeared leaving some good lacing. Powerfull aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malts and hops. Very thick, almost sticky. Strong bitterness and light (!) alcohol, warming, with a sweet, full body. Very inteste beer. Great.

Pours oily pitch black no head, tiny lacing. Mind blowing amazing nose, complex dark fruits, alcohol, coffee, dried cherries, and more. Taste is crazy complex, heavy, fruity, dark. Finish is long and lovely. Great beer.

Pours with a big brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Boozy taste but not surprising at ABV 17+. A tad bitter with a coffee finish that lingers.
