3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aromas of tabacco and booze. Pour is thinner than expected but when rolling the beer around u can see some big sugary legs. Taste is strong anise, molasses, alcohol and coffee. Cork seemed slightly small as the head was non existent but there is a decent amount of carbonation left, but not enough.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught, 18%, 2012 edition @ Mikkeller, Viktoriagade. Pours cloudy nearly black with small tan head. Clear aroma of malt, fruit and coffee, with touches of liquorice. Bitter, roasty and vinous flavour, with heavy notes of coffee and pronounced touches of malt and alcohol. Bitter and roasty aftertaste. Good but quite heady and boozy.

3.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by jheath99.. Pours black with frothy tan head. Aroma of booze. Flavors of coffee and booze. Bitter, boozy finish. It was almost too much of a boozy flavor for me. Decent beer, but I prefer something more complex.

On tap at Scratch Bar 070314. The biggest baddest beer I have had. Black is everything that you want in a great beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cap is stamped 30/6/2020. What a shelf life.
Appearance: Jet black body with a dense brown head. Head settles to a firm and thick coating.
Aroma: Big fig/raisins with a hint of smoke and dark chocolate. Booze shows through, but itís not awful.
Taste: Huge fig, raisin and grape flavors. Boozy finish with some charred malts and dark chocolate. Boozy on the tongue, rubbing alcohol and heavy char on the finish. Not the best, but itís palatable, sort of.
Palate: Thick and near chewy, no carbonation.
Overall: This is too boozy and rough to recommend. Itís much better than the last time I had it from this batch though, I donít know how. Either way Iíd avoid.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Purchased at ōlbutikken in Copenhagen, DK; enjoyed in my hotel room in Stockholm towards the end of my vacation. This stuff is pretty powerful. Appearance is a thick pitch black with a rich and frothy dark tan head that lightly laces to the glass. Aroma is rich in dark chocolate, cacao, smells potent. Taste lightly burns on my lips and has a burning aftertaste, rich in dark chocolate, bitter and lightly sweet. One of the most potent Iíve had, and I half like it / half donít want to like it for some reason...I get the feeling this was trying to be powerful for the sake of it, but it does taste good. Conflicting brew for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
4oz draft pour at ChurchKey. Poured a totally black, oil color without much of a head at all. Aroma was roasted malt notes, a lot of roasted character. Flavor was a little roasted notes, boozy chocolate. A lot of heat in this one. A bit too extreme here, which is a bit of a disappointment. Heavy booze, burn. etc.
