ROGUE (1581) - Newark, Delaware, USA - JUN 7, 2013
375ml bottle. Pours a deep black color with a large three finger dark tan head that leaves a ridiculous amount of lacing. Big aroma of caramel and dark chocolate, with coffee, burnt wood, molasses, toffee, and some strong but inviting alcohol. Taste smacks you in the mouth with notes of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, fudge, liqourice, even port notes, brown sugar, honey, roasted malt and of course, big alcohol. It ends with a long, long bitterness. Mouthfeel is very fullbodied, oily, thick, long, and bitter.

Black colour, beige head. Alcoholic aroma, red fruits, coffee and over-ripe fruits. Alcoholic flavour, coffee, roasted malts, quite bitter. Alcoholic finish, light bitter, carbonic acid, quite bitter, burning sensation on the tongue.

Bottle shared at ZZT 7. Pours almost black with a small beige head. Aroma of malt, dough, alcohol, chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter, alcohol burns on the tongue to start and in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Too much..

Aromas of tabacco and booze. Pour is thinner than expected but when rolling the beer around u can see some big sugary legs. Taste is strong anise, molasses, alcohol and coffee. Cork seemed slightly small as the head was non existent but there is a decent amount of carbonation left, but not enough.

Bottle from kbudd19, thanks Kevin!! Aroma has notes of sweet roasted malts, alcohol, coffee, chocolate, and sweet dark fruits. Intense aroma. Black hue with a medium tan head that mostly diminished and left decent lace. Flavor is very very sweet and very bitter. Palate is very full bodied and oily soft with a long cloying finish. Overall a very decadent brew. Great appearance for the ABV and a good flavor. Loved it.

Very strong, but interesting, could be a new breed of "desert beer". Full body, very aromatic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this on several occasions, always in bottle 375ml Pours pitch black with nice steady creamy dark beige head. Quite overwhelming aroma of chocolate, some coffee, caramel, roasted malts and oats. Huge body with lots of sweetness balanced by roasty notes, quite bitter end, low carbonation. Taste is toffee, sugar syrup. Bit boozy, but less than whiksky version.

1st edition bottle...Pours pitch black with ruby hues...no head...very heavy looking...like oil. Aroma is boozy with layers of port wine, fig, and smoky/ashiness. Flavor has lots of dark fruit...very port like...with notes of dark chocolate and faint smoke. Mouthfeel is medium and mostly flat but since it drinks like a port it works...finish is dark chocolate and dark fruit...very warming and lingering. ABV is hidden fairly well.
