375mL bottle, pours jet black with an unusually large (for a ~20% beer) foamy tan / light brown head. Nose is full of molasses, burnt caramel, bourbon barrels, treacle toffee and obvious alcohol. Flavour is extremely harsh, full of insanely heavy buffalo trace bourbon barrels, shitloads of burnt / charred malt, heavy booze, burnt caramel and burnt molasses. Finishes on insane charred / burnt notes from the barrels that make no effort to compromise. Palate becomes absolutely scorched very quickly, with no remorse. The sweetness is cut by the barrels, but perhaps that is the only positive. A bit too much to be enjoyable in more than a 1 oz. sample, so getting through my 9 oz. or so was a task that I couldn’t exactly complete.
