Bottle. Low but lasting brown creamy head. Pitch black body. Powerful alcohol dominated choccolate aroma. Smooth and pleasant choccolate flavor with some hops bitterness but not too much of a good thing. Low carbonation. Long bitter aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour. Small tan head that quickly dies down to a thin layer of bubbles and leaves a little bit of lacing behind. Smells of alcohol and a bit of chocolate. Mostly alcohol. Tastes of coffee and chocolate. Molasses as well. Some vanilla. Some alcohol. A little hot and thinner than I expected. Decent beer.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 Pours without any carbonation too speak off, pitch black, very thick fluid. Aroma is all dried fruit, prunes, rich sweet things. Taste follows this lead, taking on more red fruit, brown sugar, and prunes. Mouthfeel is thick, slick, little/no carb, followed by a pleasant alcohol burn. A decadent sipper.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 mL bottle from Plovmand. Black, with not much head. Not much of a pop when this one opened, and the carbonation was very low, so I wonder if there was a problem with bottling. The beer was very fine, however, with roast, cocoa, maraschino cherries, and a hint of booze. Great body. Thanks, Thomas.
