Bottle at Örebro Ölcafé. Very funky smell with horse blanket and other brett aromas. The taste was also very funky almost bordering on mould. Barn yard. Not sour though, just very funky.

Pouring at Where The Wild Beers Are 2014. Pours a hazed gold with a thin to medium sized white head. Big cheesy funk, sweet citrus. Medium bodied, weak malt and toast, caramel. Long musk, starts great and goes downhill quickly.

Poured with a mile of foam. Aroma of tart malt, funk and floral hops. Burnt orange color. Medium weight with a smoothness and somewhat dry. Subtle sour with nice counteracting bitterness and a peppery finish.

Dark orange and absurdly fizzy to pour. The nose is dry and tart with serious white grape, yeast and lychee fruits. In the mouth it has an awful lot of woody notes. It has a strong bitterness too which I find clashes with the classy dryness of the yeast. In many respects it is too like pine sap or something for me, deeply bitter and herbal. It has a rubbery finish. Meh.

Had multiple times since this came out .. Never truly wow’ed me .. . Crisp foam, in your face .. . Airy and bubbly .. Mostly Brett and bitter straw .. . Good for a small glass but nothing more .. . . The toasted cheese sandwich should be celebrated. I’m all for a national toasted cheese sandwich day!

Pours a deep golden color with a rocky three plus fingers of white foam. Nose is floral hay, unripe pineapple, apple skins, grass, hint of caramel. Palate follows the nose, some nice barnyard brett character upfront, glimpse of stonefruit midpalate, then an aggressive bitterness takes over that becomes slightly astringent, light burnt rubber, bitter nutmeg. Interesting moments but overall just a bit unfocused and unrefined.

bottle shared at a tasting. pours cloudy golden with an aerial off-white head, very good retention and lacing - very orval-looking - perhaps the closest match of this series - that i tasted, that is. strong leathery bretts, nicely toasted maltiness, peppery yet very floral, lightly sweet candi, citrus and spices. lively carbonation, light to medium bod; dry floral-spicy-peppery-citrusy finish. much enjoyed!

Pours a clear golden with with a medium-high white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of fruits, leather and bandaid. Bretts galore. Taste is dry and carries some peppery flavors along with the same fruits you got on the nose. Body is low to medium and carbonation medium-high. A fun drink!

Bottle (750 ml) @ De Garde++ tasting. Shared by mathieuc, thanks!

Appearance: Hazy golden/orange with a frothy off-white head and some lacing.

Aroma: Bold brettanomyces with strong herbal notes, light pickles presence and earthy/mineral notes.

Taste: Big brettanomyces presence, quite herbal, oak, peppery notes, hints of pickles, good malt backbone and mild bitterness.

Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Dry and herbal finish.

Overall: Pretty good brett Belgian Ale. It definitely has the Anchorage signature, but it’s also similar to an Orval on steroïds. Tasty and drinkable.
