jmm635 (250), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 11, 2009 Poured a cloudy deep orange with a foamy white head. Not what I was expecting from a pale ale. Aroma was fantastic! Really strong fresh hoppiness with a sweet malty balance. Flavor was also in this line. Palate was also pretty nice. Bitterness in the front of the tongue and the roof of the mouth, but finishes smooth. Much better than any other pale ale I’ve tasted. Aroma is not as hoppy as I expected -some light pine hops, but more on the malty side with hints of dough. Very nice taste - some light spices with sweet malt, balanced with citrus hops. Very well balanced beer, and excellent overall.
