thebeertourist (2750), Oslo, Norway Oct 18, 2008 Bottle branded Vibskov Eminius. Deep red amber with a healthy head. Very interesting hop aroma: herbal, pine, vegetables, you name it. Good malty base for fresh hops that still manage to impart quite a bit of bitterness. Almost like a fresh hop salad. This really is different. Mikkeller shows that they can do wonders at 6% ABV- which is definitely more impressive than their 16%-17% heavyweights. raiderfost (158), virginia beach, Virginia, USA Oct 15, 2008 Thanks Luda! First mikkeller ive ever had and id have to say, the best regular IPA that ive had. Very well done. Cant wait to try the black scoth (266), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear golden, with a medium long-lasting soapy beige head. Smells like pine and hay. Crisp and medium bodied. Nicely bitter upfront, tastes of pine resin, with sublte malt, balanced, has an interesting slightly wheat flavor, dry finish. (Rating #1979) adm (5), Alfold Crossways, Surrey, England does not count Oct 4, 2008 Updated: Oct 13, 2008Aroma is resinous, gum and retsina - definite green hop versus many Mikkeler citrussy blasts. Appearance is great - clear dark amber colour, nice lacing. Great head, but little staying power. Nice balance of astringent hops and underlying sweetness on the palate with a clean, fresh lingering aftertaste.
Very good.

rederic (1785), montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 2, 2008 Hazy amber-orangeish hue, with a beige head, mild toasted malt, fruity nose of candied peaches, apricots and orange peels, with a nice floral hop pineyness, with some coniferous, cedary aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasty, biscuity malt, fruity orange, resinous flowery hop character, with some good, piney, coniferous, cedary, leafy bitter accents, with a hint of mintiness too, and some lime, lemon zestiness, leading towards an intense leafy, coniferous, hop bittering finish. radiomgb (1920), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 28, 2008 Golden-orange in colour with a long lasting creamy off-white coloured head, some light lacing. The aroma is quite hoppy, very fresh, some pine, citrus and grapefruit. The flavour is juicy, plenty of hops, lightly acidic at times, moderate bitterness. Hoppy mouthfeel, medium body, medium/light carbonation. Finishes lingering, with a citrus bitterness, dry.
Quite refreshing, an excellent summer pale ale. Not over done with excellent balance.

Aroma: nice, pine, citrus. 7 out of 10.
Visuals: beautiful, simple design, red golden color, brilliant, persistent white head, great lace. 5 out of 5.
Taste: well balanced, high malt, medium hops, medium strength, high craft. 9 out of 10.
Palate: high quality, medium texture, medium finish. 3 out of 5.
Overall: A fantastic brew, like all Mikkellers, I’d love the opportunity to repeat, but not necessarily a favorite, overtly expensive, superlative craft. 18 out of 20.
