RobertGBG (109), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 10, 2008 Dried fruits, grape, fresh delighful smell, apricot, not that sweet, good bitterness lamas (709), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA Jul 9, 2008 500mL bottle. Once again, props to the design department for those labels. Pours a murky rust color with a huge tan head that leaves lots of lace. Prototypical APA aroma profile with plenty of floral hops in there. Medium to thin-bodied. Taste is juicy grapefruits, oranges and lemons. Hints of caramel maltiness and a light biscuitiness upfront, but it’s all about the hops - lots of grapefruits and pine with a bitter finish that lingers. Most likely the best APA I’ve had. paytoplay (122), , California, USA Jul 9, 2008 Drank out of the 500ml bottle so not sure on the appearance. Great nose, citrus, clean and refreshing. Could of been colder, and enjoyed on a hotter day and it would of been great. Some bitter hops on the finish give it some bite, though tried next to an IIPA it was a small flavored beer. Great nose and high drinkability. Not sure on the price but I believe the Mikkeller brews are on the high end. Will work thru more of the brews before I settle in and buy more than singles. Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 8, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep dirty beige color ale with a large foamy off-white head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of bitter and lightly citrus hops is interesting. Taste is a refreshing mix between a nice caramel malt base with some well balance bitter and citrus hops. Full body with great carbonation. Really well balance and very refreshing – I wouldn’t mind having access to this beer year long. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pours to a bright orange body with a tall super large bubbly milky foamy off-white head and awesome lacing. Some nice visible carbonation too. The aroma is extremely hoppy. Catty hops meets pine and grapefruit. The flavor is a nicely balanced grapefruit and catty hop with a great pale malt back. Subtle chalkiness from the hops. Hops are subtly bitter. Dry, medium body. If this was cheaper, I’d drink it fairly often. jsquire (2087), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Jul 4, 2008 Amber beer with a big off white head that left sheets of sticky lace on the glass. Nice nose of tangerine peel, manderine oragnes and some pine notes. Definitely a hoppy beer, with grapefruit rind, hop resin, and pine needles. Sharp, fresh hop burn on the tongue, with a long finish of green hops thatend almost grassy. Pretty nice version of a big American pale ale. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 3, 2008 Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: Coppery hue with a fading frothy head but left excellent lacework upon the glass. The aroma has notes of resiny, catty, citric, and herbal hops with some notes of bready malt, some rye twang, earthy yeast esters, and a hint of clove and grains of paradise. The taste is hop driven with a snappy resin and piney tone chased by a light grapefruit note. The malt is a background player here provide a touch of balance. The finish is sharp and hop spicy with some leafy and astringent character. Quite refreshing till the aftertaste where it is a tad chalky and medicinal. Overall I nice brew that could easily pass for an common American IPA.
