HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Apr 11, 2008 Bottle (500ml). Clear mahogany pour, huge lasting fluffy off-white head. Nice acidic leafy resin/confer hop aroma, dry, with toasty malt backing. Dry resin hop bitterness up-front and in the linger, a little musty, strong-medium acidic funkiness to the hops. Light body, middling carbonation, just the right amount of crisp acidity, and while long in finishing, the bitterness never quite takes over - no alcohol noticeable either. Very easy to drink. I’d have this again in a minute. DicksMcGee (54), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 10, 2008 Great hop aroma for a euro shot at an American IPA. Same goes for the taste. Sweet, a little grassy. Surprisingly good. Thanks Pepsican for the bodacious brew! pepsican (884), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Apr 8, 2008 Pours amber with a medium white head. Strong juicy hop aroma. Flavor is similar, very bitter. Drinks a bit more like a pale ale but the aroma hints at something close to an IIPA. Pretty fun! Marthinus (118), Denmark Apr 7, 2008 The taste of hops with my favourite cuisin was gordious, wellbalanced and so nice. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Apr 6, 2008 bottle. copper pour with slight haze. thick foamy off white head. sweet caramel malts and fresh hop aroma. Nice Pale! Aroma made me think this would be more like an IPA but the it is not. earthy hops. malts are subdued. balance is super. well done. Svesse (2601), Hässelby, Sweden Apr 5, 2008 (Bottle, Plan B, Copenhagen, 28 March 2008) Amber colour with huge, frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange peel and pine needles. Fruity taste with notes of grapefruit, orange marmalade, caramel and lots of piney hops in a lasting finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Very nice beer with a lovely hop character. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. It pours a slightly hazy, well-carbonated orange-golden body, topped by a creamy, mediumsized beige head leaving nice lacings. It’s very hoppy on the nose, with pinecones, grapefruit, resin and grass. There’s malt there too, some weak caramel, but in the background. It has a full-bodied, almost stinging, quite effervescent mouthfeel with flavors of grapefruit peel and pine cones dominating. There’s a decent malty sweetness as well, but as in the aroma, it’s playing second violin. Lovely bitterness that lasts for a good while and has company of some malty sweetness in the finish. It’s so flavorful and fullbodied I wouldn’t have been suspicious if someone said it was 8% ABV, yet it is a very refreshing and quenching beer. I started drinking it at cellar temperature, and that is the temperature it suits best I think, but it sure isn’t bad when it warms up either. (080404) fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. Unclear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, grape, orange, flowers. Flavor is moderate sweet and heavy bitter (like grape or citrus shell bitter) with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (For me a very nice aroma but the flavor is way to citrus shell bitter burn) (090308)
