Commercial Description:
All Others Pale - as in ’All Others Pale By Comparison’ - is our cheeky take on an American tradition, but naturally with a Danish touch. It is a well-balanced, light-bodied thirst quencher, perfect after a hard day’s work or on hot summer days...but loads of fresh green hops and a subtle malty background make this pale ale the refreshing choice all year round!
Ingredients : Water, malt (maris ottar pale, munich, carapils and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (simcoe, centennial, amarillo and nugget) and ale yeast.

(Bottle, Plan B, Copenhagen, 28 March 2008) Amber colour with huge, frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange peel and pine needles. Fruity taste with notes of grapefruit, orange marmalade, caramel and lots of piney hops in a lasting finish. Medium body, rather sweet. Very nice beer with a lovely hop character.

Bottle. It pours a slightly hazy, well-carbonated orange-golden body, topped by a creamy, mediumsized beige head leaving nice lacings. It’s very hoppy on the nose, with pinecones, grapefruit, resin and grass. There’s malt there too, some weak caramel, but in the background. It has a full-bodied, almost stinging, quite effervescent mouthfeel with flavors of grapefruit peel and pine cones dominating. There’s a decent malty sweetness as well, but as in the aroma, it’s playing second violin. Lovely bitterness that lasts for a good while and has company of some malty sweetness in the finish. It’s so flavorful and fullbodied I wouldn’t have been suspicious if someone said it was 8% ABV, yet it is a very refreshing and quenching beer. I started drinking it at cellar temperature, and that is the temperature it suits best I think, but it sure isn’t bad when it warms up either. (080404)

Bottle. Unclear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, grape, orange, flowers. Flavor is moderate sweet and heavy bitter (like grape or citrus shell bitter) with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (For me a very nice aroma but the flavor is way to citrus shell bitter burn) (090308)

From a 500mL Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy, amber bronze color with a thick head of fine bubbled ivory. Grassy hop aroma of freshly mown lawn, white grapefruit, and floral rose petals. A touch of graham cracker malt backs pleasantly. Medium light bodied, spritzy carbonated mouthfeel. Pithy grapefruit hop bitterness accompanied by hints of biscuity malt. There’s a bit of a toasted bread crust flavor that lingers a bit awkwardy in the finish. Too much hop bitterness and not enough flavor, giving it a bit of a pithy, planty character, detracting from the refreshing drinkability.

Bottle. Pours a slightly-hazy orange-amber with a huge foamy off-white head. Decent lacing. Very nice hoppy aroma with just the right amount of caramel malt backing it up, smells as fine as any Pale Ale I’ve smelt. Nice hop medley in the flavour (citrus, perfumy and pine), a touch sweet along with some tropical fruit and caramel malt. Nice crisp bitter finish. Medium bodied. Another fantastic beer from this brewery, they just keep knocking ’em outta the park!

I really love the playful concept at work here. Danish brewery taking a stab at an American Pale Ale? Pours a slightly hazy, orange, amber color with a slightly frothy, slightly creamy white head that laced the glass. Smells great, plenty of hop aroma, flowers, pine, grapefruit, mango but also a murkiness hiding in the background. Flavor is very fruity, grapefruit, tropical fruits, pineapple, pears, life savers but also a slightly metallic, copper flavor that must be the malts. Finish has some lasting bitterness rounded out with some lasting sweetness. Smells great, tastes fine, but I think they do APA’s best in America.
