bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Jun 30, 2009 Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours a copper amber with a decent bubbly beige head. Smells of roast caramel with underlying floral hop. So it’s on style so far. Near full in body with almost creamy carbonation. Flavor is bitter citric hop with the roast malt. The finish is smoothly bitter. It’s very, very good stuff. FlyingSwine (169), Littleton, Colorado, USA Jun 30, 2009 Pours a cloudy copper, with a huge, slick, frothy head. Lots of lace. Aroma is of a farm-house ale, slighty sour. Flavor is an odd mix of alcohol, farm-house, English bitter, and an over-hopped American Pale. For my tastes, this one becomes better as it warms, as more malty sweetness comes through. Super complex brew, but a bit too dry and hoppy for me. FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Jun 26, 2009 Pours a slightly cloudy medium amber color. Poured with a medium to small head but a layer of head lasted until the beer was gone and left thick lacing. Potent floral nose with notes of wood, spice, and a little fruit. Taste is woody and hoppy as well as complex and interesting with notes of citrus, caramel, and spices. Woody hop finish. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Jun 17, 2009 Bottle at my Cloisters bar staff tasting ...BLonde ... big bubbly white head ... sweet syrupy nose ... rich fruity sweet hop ... light bitter ... little dry ... little pine ... little vanilla. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 14, 2009 Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Nice copper body with average off-white foamy head. Sharp hoppy aroma with fruity and caramel hints. Taste carries grapefruit notes and ends with a long, robust bitter finish. Very good Pale Ale. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 12, 2009 Bottle, Mondiale 09, thanks Josh. Unique hop aroma - -not spicy, not sweet, nor citrusy, sort of a combo. Orange, small white head. Love the taste - same odd hop combo + throw in a malt combo I have never encountered before and you have one unique pale ale. Nutty, woody, earthy too. I quite enjoyed it. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jun 12, 2009 22oz bottle. Orange/copper color. Wonderful hop aroma. Hints of a spicy green, like cabbage...no, bok choy! Tastes like green vegetables. Finishes with a super nice bitterness. Yum, pass the summer rolls... 03 may 08.
