Ughsmash (2612), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 1, 2008 Thanks to sk8viking for the bottle! Poured clear medium orange with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up dry caramel, floral, and cat pee hoppage over a primarily pale malt base.. grassy notes right on the back. The flavor had more of Amarillo-ish floral and pine presence that coated the mouth with bitterness and carried through the finish.. pale malts and grapefruit supported.. long, pine and perfumey finish. Medium-bodied on the palate with high bitterness that stuck for a while on the finish.. refreshing and well-balanced. Nice one.
buzzoven (30), Japan May 13, 2008 Wow...crazy smell...quite citrusy and heavy on the pine. So far so good...colour is thick hazy orange that borders on brown. A murky view through the glass. The taste is heavy on the hop bitterness and again with the strong citrus...orange peel, grass, dandelion stems, a slight peppery hint. The finish is interesting..sort of a wave that rises up and diminishes in a blur of bitterness on the tongue...quite aggressive bitterness, actually. This was a good, well made beer but it’s not something I could drink everyday due to the heavy feel of it. For a pale ale, it’s a wee bit overbearing for my tastes, but a solid brew, nonetheless. Beershine (1010), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 12, 2008 Bottle, thanks to mgumby. Bright cantaloupe melon color with small white head. Aroma of oregano, pine, bay leaf, mango, cilantro, touch of orange. Wood flavors. Cedar. Toasted coriander seeds. Clean, even, quaffable. swoopjones (938), Buffalo, New York, USA May 12, 2008 Bottle. Why cant more American brewers make APA’s like this. Pours a full orange amber color with nice white head. Nice hop filled aroma with some malt sweetness to balance. Creamy mouthfeel and citrusy hop presence. Very well balanced. Great beer kp (5800), Woodstock, Georgia, USA May 11, 2008 Date: 05/03/2008
