This reminds me so much of three floyds alpha king. HUGE high alpha hops in the nose, insane amounts of grapefruit, and citrus. this is a hop heads wet dream, outstanding stuff if you love hops. Gold with slight haze, thin beige head. God that is such a good aroma. The peppery grapefruit. The fruit is just lovely. Jellied grapefruit. Then in the mouth is juicy malt and lovely hops which go on and on. Lovely and definitely beer of the day. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 25, 2009 After having the beer geek breakfast I was pumped to try this one. Pours like iced tea with a nice foamy, off-white head. Aroma was of grass, citrus and hops. Tasted very earthy and hoppy. Good lacing. Dry finish. Damn good beer. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 25, 2008 I poured this at a very cold temp and it still produced the classic Mikkeller head. Good retention and superb fluffy, sticky lacing that lasts. The color is a firey orange. Strong aromas of citrus rind and leather. Full nectar with good carbonation. This is a classic. Blistering bitterness balanced beautifully with a solid malt backbone. It’s dry not fruity. It’s simply classic. The finish is pure American west coast bitter that lingers.

Nicely balanced fresh citrus hop and biscuity aroma. Very nice mild honey peach sweetness with toasty biscuit and citrusy fresh hop finish. Medium body and carbo. Nice mouthfeel. Really really an excellent complex and satisfying pale ale. Too bad it is so expensive that I will only be able to enjoy it once. Acknud (772), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA

Big time grassy aroma with some pine and flroal hoppiness. Medium body with a medium hop bitterness that replicates the aroma. Bitterness nicely matched with the slight candy sweetness and bread like body. Very nice APA made by a non US company.
