JK54B (291), Finland Jun 13, 2008 Cloudy light brown coloured beer. Pale large bubbled head. Nice soft taste in the beginning. Strong bite of hops in the end.
GonZoBeeR (1994), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Aug 27, 2008 Aroma:pine hops,grapefruit,grassy hops...
Appearance:clear cooper good head...
Flavor:good bitternees, pine hops, grapefruit and grasy hops..... MartinT (4316), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 26, 2008 My Bottom Line:
This ravenous American-style Pale Ale’s perfumey flowery and piney hoppiness opens the way for a portentous earthy and coniferous bitterness, a finish only hopheads can thoroughly enjoy.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A bobbing tower of foam tops the nearly translucent fiery amber.
-For some reason, I had gotten decent caramel whiffs upon uncapping, but they were much quieter once the pint had been poured. This is a nearly all hop affair, so don’t look for balance here!
-The frothy carbonation kind of gets in the way early on, but some breathing does it a world of good.
-The hop profile is a tad soapy at times (mostly in the finish).
-Residual sugars are quite low.
Bottle; best before 131209. fishingnet (803), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear coper with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine , and grassy hops with sweet malt and a touch of caramel. Tastes is the same as aroma with a emphasis on the hops. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of bitterness. Very good. MrRomero (1881), Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Germany Aug 25, 2008 500 ml bottle: poured cloudy orange with a thick light tan head. Very robust scent of citrusy, piney hops. Very pale ale-ish. And very nice. Flavor is mostly piney hops, citrus, little malt, and little sweetness. Quite dry. A bit too dry for my taste but still a very nice, satisfying beer. vyvvy (1689), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours amber with a soapy tan head. The aroma has green floral hops, pineapple, tropical fruits, light caramel malt and a bit of butter. Medium body that is lightly biting with some light sharp carbonation. The flavor begins a bit sweet with the malt and then grassy and spicy with the hops and there is also a bit of resin. The finish is fairly dry, earthy, piny and bitter. It is good, but not great enough to claim "all others pale".
