hazy brown, whispy beige head that is eaily roused and quicky fades, big sweet grapefruit aroma, amerillo rocks, big bitter hop flavor leading to a long bitter finish, touch of dark carmel sweetness, tasty but too unbalanced towards the bitter, a bit harsh

awaisanen (1116), Irvine, California, USA May 20, 2007 From a 500mL Bottle. Generously shared by Chris at the 2nd Woodshop Tasting. Pours a hazy color of caramel amber with a thick head of active, fizzy, white carbonation. Clean, lemony hop aroma with some herbal characters. Hop aroma is subdued, and appears to be degraded at this point due to age, although what’s there is nice. Light to medium bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. A nice caramelly malt base greets the tongue at first, followed by some herbally hops that are garnished with a twist of lemon. The hop character is a bit lacking in bitterness at this time, resulting in more herbal flavors than bitter citrus, and the finish get’s a bit thin with oxidation. I think it’s safe to say this one is past it’s prime at this point, although it’s still pleasantly drinkable. MoritzF (3648), Ruhrpott, Germany Feb 18, 2007 (sampled at the Düsseldorf RB gathering) Hazy, dark amber colour with a fluffy beige foamy head. Sweet malty nose rounded up with aromatic, resiny hops. Bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Malty taste with a complex range of flavours (cinnamon, cedar, cough syrup and resiny hops); bitter, dry and aromatic herbal, slightly floral hoppy finish. Very quaffable designer brew. MiP (4843), Flensburg, Germany Feb 16, 2007 Bottle. Very nice hop aroma, sweet, spicy and teaish. Cloudy brown colour, getting muddy. Big, stable light brown head, leaving lace. The flavour is much the same as aroma, quite sweet, but tasty. pivnizub (3643), Porúří, Germany Jan 13, 2007 Bottle (Düsseldorf Gathering): "Grey" to amber coloured; intensive, strong resinous, medical hoppy nose; strong bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; lingering dry hoppy finish with coffeeish and liquorice influences. A very fine brew.....
