Bottle at home. Thanks for the hook up D’Anna. Pours a copper/brown with off white fluffy head. Funky Belgian yeast on the nose with hoppy malty nuances. Taste is typical but good pale Belgian ale flavor. Some citrus and floral flavors with slight funk, earth and hay. I felt like if anything the GM barrel maybe gave it some backbone and structure but no real prominent flavors. Was anticipating some boosey Orange and wood showing up but never really happened. Overall a very good tasting beer and I enjoyed it. Was expecting a bit more though.

Dark gold color. High carbonation. Aromas of sweat, sage, very yeasty and hoppy. Fruity. Ha a malty base. Hint of caramel. Very sharp and pointy. Finished dry with mineral and weedy hop notes. Lingering hoppiness. Refreshing. Very nice.

Dimmig bärnstensfärgad öl med ett gräddigt smutsvitt skum. Doften är fruktig med inslag av vinbärsblad och kryddig jäst. Smaken domineras av jästsmakerna och bitter mandelmassa.

14th June 2016: Shrewsbury Beer Share, think Mat brought it. Hazy orange/brown with a beige topping. Malts lead the way in both the nose and taste, fruity notes abound within the malty molasses and give a ’fruit pie’ feel to the flavours. Liked it.

330ml brown bottle poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is hazy brownish orange with a large beige head. Aroma and flavours of figs, caramel, bread, banana, brown sugar and dates. Taste is medium-heavy sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium-full bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Overall this is not a bad interpretation of Belgian style beer, flavour profile closer to Belgian Strong ales.

33cl bottle. Hazy orange brown with a spongy/porous dirt white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, apricot jam, red apples and strawberries and earthy barnyard brett. Taste is sweet caramel, orangepeel, apricot, apples, hints of strawberries, licorice and woody brett. Spicy dry hoppy bitter finish. Medium body, soft carb, oily to dry texture. It’s quite nice. Still have to try it next to Orval though.

Scopey (11759) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 11, 2016
Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours lightly hazy amber with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy fruits, bready, fruit cake, pear, tart tatin, toffee and cake. The taste is bitter, earthy, brown bread, cereal, toasted grain, light apice and a touch of alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Decent enough, but not standout.
