3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
(330ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours a very lightly hazed amber with a massive dense off-white head that fades very slowly with spotty lace. Aroma of sweetish vaguely fruity light caramel malt, grains, bitter Noble-type hops, dry grass, floral, lemon zest, dry yeasty notes and a bit of funky Brett and wet straw. Palate is fairly dry with moderate bitterness and funk, with a little caramel at the core. Fruity notes, very herbal and grassy from the hops, slightly earthy Brett, some grain, almost an oaked character in the finish with lots of residual bitter herbs. Sort of tannic feel to the aftertaste. Medium body, above average carbonation. Nice enough stuff, not really a match for Orval but not bad either.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled as 50 cL can, with 7,6% abv reported.
Deep hazy copper and amber coloured body with a rich, thick, three centimetre tall tan head that leaves a pretty ugly lace on the glass. Aroma of dry yeast, grain, hops, funk, spice, tart and sour elements, but mainly a nice complex smell throughout. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong pungent yeast flavour up front with a lot of malt, some spices, a bit of a herbalness, some grass, all finishing very dry and oaky from the flavours. Aftertaste shows a lot of depth and complexity with the rich yeast and malt elements throughout along with a light sweetness at the end. Overall, a surprisingly nice and complex offering from Mikeller without breaking the bank too much for this one. I sampled this 50 cL can, purchased from Murray’s Cheese in New York, New York on 06-December-2015 for US$6,49 sampled a few hours after returning from Murray’s and New York again on 30-May-2016 at home in Washington.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy, honey-gold pour, big off-white head with nice retention. Nose is funky cows, floral (big daffodils), white pepper, Brett, grass, lemon peel. Mouth is medium bodied, dry and funky with bitterness up front, in the middle and on the ass end. Lots of stuff you’d find in a garden -- lilies, grass, moss, earth. Some woody tannins, minerals and sauvignon blanc (not sure where the Grand Marnier is... but definitely tastes like a wine barrel). I don’t give a fuck what the classification is on this says... it’s a farmhouse. Solid.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
6.8%ABV. Belgian Pale Ale.
Poured out clear amber. 16ºSRM.
Nose is deep citrus oil and sour. Lactic and farm ale like.
Mouthfeel is carbonated. The palate is bitter with some toasted malt base. The bitter is vegetal and lingers somewhat giving it a hoppy finish. The bitter is herbal and hyssop like with a bitter melon or bitter herb character.
Bitter is a little asymmetrical to my IPA tainted palate for now.
