4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 11C. Amber with a rocky off white head that fades slowly and laces well. Aroma of under-ripe nectarines, brett, floral and orangey hops, mild spices. Creamy texture with zingy brett. Fruity with more tart notes than sweet, slight caramel, very dry finish that’s quite bitter and a little peppery. Not Orval but far, far from disgraced. Very good.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home. Pour is clear roasted amber with a huge tan colored head and great lacing. Herbal, caramelly, grassy, lightly husky, light band-aid, earthy, and fruity aroma. Taste is medicinal, grassy, light pine, a hint of band-aid, grapefruit, and pine with a medium bitter. Medium body with high carbonation. Definitely get hints of Orval shining through, but needs a ton of work to get to that level.

Tap at bar Animal. Red amber, offwhite creamy head. Dry honey Brett and fruit notes, slightly on the youghurty side. Dry bodied, barn, berries, minerals. Needs a little bit more depth to rival Orvall, but a nice drink nevertheless

Bottle pours a hazy orange with a thick foamy cream colored head. The aroma is peppery and malty. The taste is malty and hoppy with a medium body and a wet finish. The pepper and hop are strong in the finish. Overall a spicy beer, pretty good.

Draft. Bright clear deep golden amber color, off white edge head. Aroma of slightly funky barnyards. Taste is lightly spiced, complex, bitter. Probably my favorite of all the variations.
