Smooth and light aroma. Beautiful thick appearance. Good and easy taste, not too bitter. Palate could be stronger. Overall nice summer beer at the terrace.

Aroma is the best part here - volatile blend of fruit, tart, funk, malt, yeast. Flavor is similar to nose with tart enhanced by carbonation bitter is persistent, sweet and funk fleeting. Somehow seems like theres something missing. Body is good; perhaps a touch thin. Good brew.

A little funkiness that they love in Belgium. But rounded orange and caramel notes in there and not as sharp/raw as others can be. Not bad.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Only other ones I could find before adding this are barrel aged. This does not appear to be barrel aged. No mention on the label. Shelton Bros. website mentions that sometimes Arh Hvad is barrel aged, so this appears to be a non barrel aged version released in the USA. Murky amber with a tall, fluffy tan head. Aroma is fruity with light caramel, funky yeast and earthy notes with soft grains. Taste is big funky yeast notes, caramel, light grains, multigrain bread, light fruitiness, floral notes and light earthy notes. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more funky yeast, light earthiness, caramel notes, bread, grains and soft fruit notes.

Clear taste of the Bretts giving it a distinct sourness. With a sharp lingering taste and mouth feel. Its a complex but very nice taste. I am a fan and its a good started for the more sour beers as still hoppy but manges to retain a quality unified taste. Something that many breweries get wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
