Bottle shared at a BA/RB tasting... Poured near black with amber highlights and fluffy, off-white head. Whiskey tones, cigar-like smokiness, roasted malts with a little bit of boozy tone. Dark fruits, coffee, nutty tones. Cool-ass bottle and label on this one.

Bottled. Pours out in an opaque black colour with a small beige head. Bi g, almost burning aroma of ash, black chocolate, roasted malts, anise and alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of oak, black chocolate, pepper, spunned sugar, fihs and ash. Long warming finish of black pepper, dark chocolate, figs and alcohol. Need some rest, me thinks.

bottle on 2/16/10. midstbar 12/31/2012. dark orange- brown tinted black pour with a tan head and random splotches of foam. wow, it’s got that new tire smell!... other aromas of green wood, ash, rubber bands, prunes, brown sugar, molasses, salame, vitamin pills and wet forest.. pretty much a lot of black stuff. the flavor is odd and oddly the same as the aroma only on the terribly sweet side of brown sugar. ashiness, tannins and dry hoppiness do what they can to help balance... but, it’s all in vain. ooo, coffee finally shows up to produce a nice aftertaste. medium-full body feels kinda flat and dead on the tongue...7/4/6/3/13/3.3

Big roasty, chocolate, coffee nose. Very sweet, lots of chocolate, lots of caramel and toffee, dark fruit, decent oak, etc. Nothing special.

Bottle 0,25l shared with Rune. Thanks. Black as coal. A large fluffy mocca colored head. Inviting aroma of sherry and alcohol. Fruity overall impression with the alcohol shining through. Surprisingly easy to drink. No bitterness.

Marsiblursi (2952) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 30, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2009 (Bottle) Pours black with a big, fast decreasing brown head. The aroma has an extremely intense and compact character of woody, citric and resiny hops (dry hopped), deep, tar-like aromatic coffee roast, sweet syrupy malt and fresh red wine/vanilla-ish oak. The burned malt is almost a bit smoky from time to time. Hints of violet, brown sugar and honey. The flavour is medium to heavily sweet with a good bitterness to back it up. Citrus, resin, tar, coffee, oak wood and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is a bit syrupy and sticky yet smooth and soft carbonated. Some alcohol warmth is present without any annoying alcohol taste. Lingering aftersweetness with some burned roast to save the day. Near full bodied. Typical Mikkeller.

Countbeer (2920) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2011
Bottle: Thanks to Sfhodense. Yes, a completely motoroil black as night pour with a good pretty vast (darker) brown head. Looks good. Smell is a big bomb of liquorice, coffee, burnt malts, spices, coal, earth, espresso, yeast Taste coffee, earth, wood/oak, liquorice, earth, good firm bitter, hint of sticky burnt sweets, hint of alcohol, dark fruit: raisin. A good full bodied, but slightly strange balanced, still good, bodied tasting beer. Spicy bitter burnt wood coffee aftertaste. The roasted sweets, coffee, light earth and firm bitterness stays in the aftertaste for a long time. (Thats good!) Low carbo, full body, soft creamy/oily mouthfeel and a (creamy) oily sticky texture. Talking about a big impy.
