4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black as night. A big rich well coated palate. Aroma full of roast a hint of vanilla sweetness and a touch of lightly bitter coffee. Flavor is fantastic. Not to much barreling, just a subtle sweet finish to a great base beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled on 1/28/2012. This Imperial Stout pours an eclipse black color from a 500ml bottle. Medium sized tan foamy head, with decent lacing and nice retention. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, oak and bourbon. A medium to full bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate, coffee and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Hints of wood and oak. The bourbon flavors are somewhat subdued, but intensify as the beer warms. Nice sipping beer. Hint of bourbon, oak and wood at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours black with a huge dark mocha head...beautiful retention and lacing! Aroma has soft bourbon and oaky notes with hints of dark fruit and coffee...a bit of dark chocolate...a bit too subdued and faint though. Flavor has dark chocolate and mild coffee with just a hint of bourbon and oak arriving late. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a chocolatey/oaky finish that has faint coffee.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle: pours an oily opaque with a small creamy beige head. Has a sweet dark caramel and coffee nose with some piny hop notes and a touch of bourbon oak. Starts with good fullness and chewy dark caramel sweetness with some resiny bitter hop balance along with plenty of roasty coffee and some mild bourbon toward the finish. Could use a little more bourbon and complexity, but still a flavorful brew.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
So, this is different...kind of an "ash" smell. Coffee taste is very mutted. Jet balck, no head, tan ring. Smell is burnt and almost dank. It is a thin stout, almost boardering a porter. Very easy drinking but still a complex flavor. Every sip is a bit different.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared with mattyb83. Pours jet black with a frothy, brown head. Aroma of charred malt, chocolate, wood, and stale coffee. Theres something off on the aroma that I canít put my finger on. Diaper maybe? All the flavors are quite muted. Chocolate upfront, roasted malt, sweet vanilla, light tannins, and a hair of bourbon. Thin, kinda dissapointing.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Dark brown in color with a medium sized, fluffy, khaki head. Lasts for a fairly long time. This looks like a stout! Taste is a bit thin. Aroma has oak, vanilla, and a strange fruity aspect. Almost tart. Plenty of oak, some roast coffee, a touch of vanilla, with a slightly bitter finish. Some charred wood aspects. Maybe more astringent than bitter. As Iíve been drinking more Beer Geek Breakfast has been falling off, or Iíve developed a different palate.
