Poured from bottle into tulip. Medium head that quickly dissipated. Taste of moderately strong smoke, moderate Bitterness and roast, and not much coffee. I enjoyed the smoked aspect of the beer, but the rest was mediocre.

One of my favorite smoked beers. Smokey wood and roasted malt aroma. My bottle was older and before the name change so the flavors had really blended. Nice dark stout color with a full and oily palate. Smokiness throughout with strong roasted flavors and a hops bittetness on the finish. Fine work.

Et Mikkeller réussit à me séduire à nouveau. Nope! Vaut mieux en boire!

33cl bottle at Pudel, Tallinn. Pours very dark brown with a dissipating beige head. Deliciously roasty and smoky aroma with dark roasted coffee, dark, bitter chocolate, dark fruits and hints of spices and hops. Sweet, but very well balanced with delicious flavours af coffee, chocolate and notes of smoke. Simply delicious and excellent as a winter warmer. Nice dessert beer.

Good smoked stout by mikkel. Meaty smokeyness without being too intense. The base porter has some chocolately and coffee roastyness to balance out some of the meaty smoke. I dig it.

Pretty nice rauch-y beer. Black pour with tan head. Ash, roast, coffee, and campfire in aroma. Taste had lots of ash, bacon, coffee, and a little touch of chocolate. Not too heavy. Okay smoked beer

Bottle. Black beer, small brown head. Nice aroma of smokey bacon. Soft thick mouthfeel. Taste of coffee, vanilla and malt, with a layer of smoke and some bacon. Aftertaste is long and evolving, bitter, sweet and smooth. Very good.

Pours an opaque very dark brown with massive brown head that slowly shrinks and leaves tons of lace. Aroma is smoke malt, chocolate, roasted malt, slight black licorice, and a touch of oak. Flavour roasted malt, black licorice, smoke, wood, moderately bitter, fairly dry, coffee and cocoa. Great breakfast beer for sure!

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Slighty ephemeral, smoky aroma in bacon direction, hints of oak, oak ashes, smoked Mettwurst (Rauchenden), at first disguised chocolately dark malty background, some coffee. Taste has a cautious smoky touch only in the very first beginning, then the "standard" ’Beer Geek’ takes over: roasty dark malty, notes of coffee and chocolate, some bitterness, some sweetness. Soft palate, mild carbonation supports the bitter notes, super long lasting finish. Hoped for more bacon presence.

Bottle@köbenhavn. Black. Roasty tarry espresso beany black salty with something.. bit beef jerky. Med bodied, bit oily, thin with an ashy roasty finish. A really dark beer. Isn’t as huggy-warming as ris’es, but almost the same intensity. The ashy finish isn’t too nice, otherwise quite ok.
