Bottle (Rauch Geek) and served in snifter: Pours a very deep brown with a mostly lasting head and good lace. Fair amount of roast, cold pressed coffee and resiny hops with faint smoke oats on the nose. The smoke shows a tad more in the chalky and slightly metallic palate. Thinner mouthfeel but that is expected from a coffee stout. Overall it is really meh... Like regular Beer Geek Breakfast much more. The hop character in this beer is too dominate.

Bottle. Pours black, tan head, dissipates quickly. Coffee, hints of maple smoked bacon, traces of cherry, slightly sweet on the nose. Flavor starts out with strong coffee, leads into smoke and chocolate, after about twenty seconds, mouth does start to taste like I’ve had bacon

Bottle (330 ml). Dark brown with a small beige head and little lacing. Aroma is of smoke, ashes, roasted malt, light peated presence and hints of salt. Taste is roasty with smoke, ashes, peated notes, light sweetness and a light salty finish. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Smokey finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Not easy to drink because of a little lack of balance. Tasty. The smoke has no "depth", unlike Schlenkerla’s beers... they aren’t in the same league anyway.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a snifter. Coal black with small light brown head. Aroma is coffee, medium body, syrupy texture, medium/light carbonation, and some very small bubble lacing. Taste is some roasty, smoke, ash, and nice coffee finish. More smoke as it warms.

Bottle. Pours dark brown color, dark beige head. Aroma is smoked, roasted malt, bacon, chocolate. Taste is medium bitter, roasted malt, bacon, smoked, dark chocolate. Nice bitter coffee finish.

Aroma is mostly bacon and rich malts. Slightly smokey aswell. Taste is a rich maltiness that actually finishes very smooth. Slightly tarty finish. Appearance is black with a thin beige head that retains fairly well.

This beer has the aroma I (would!) like to smell in the morning - frying bacon & fresh coffee. The palate is exceptionally smooth with the smoked malts really coming through. I prefer this to the standard Beer Geek Breakfast. As with the original, it is a little too dry for my taste so a little sweetness (sugar in the coffee or maple syrup on the bacon) would have turned this from an amazing one to one of the best I've ever tasted.

On tap at P St PP. Pours a dark oily black with light barely passing on the edge. A one finger beige head gradually settles down to an swirled wisp and moderate lacing. Aroma is smoked malt, bitter chocolate with coffee notes. Flavor is smoked malt with baker’s chocolate and a creamy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation, mildly bitter finish.
