Deep black with a thick tan head. Aroma is strong smoke, reminiscent of a barbecue pit. Really reminds me of sitting outside by the smoker at my favorite BBQ joint. Flavor is huge smoke, almost overwhelming until it turns slightly sweet at the end. I can see why they called this Beer Geek Bacon (my bottle said Rauch Geek Breakfast), the flavor reminds me a little of really smoky bacon that has been cooked a little longer than necessary. But what would be a burnt flavor for bacon works to this beer’s favor. My only complaint is that the body is a little thin, but the huge flavor largely makes up for it. Hard to pair with food, this seems like something to drink after dinner, even smoked meat could be overwhelmed by it. Overall, excellent beer and quite unique, one of the better and stronger flavored smoked beers I’ve had. While not something I would pick up regularly, it’s definitely something worth experiencing.

330 ml bottle. Pours an opaque black with a small, chocolate brown head that laces. Roasted malt aroma with coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and bacon. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, liquorice, dark chocolate, coffee and soy sauce with a dry, bitter, ashy finish. Medium body with a thick, oily texture and soft carbonation.

Aroma: smoked ham, bacon, coffee and roasted malts, coffee. Appearance: black color, thin beige head. Taste: low bitterness, bacon, smoked notes, coffee, roasted malts, smooth, quite dry, ashy. Palate: full body (oily texture) and low carbonation, roasted finish. Overall: Amazing beer, really complex and somehow strange taste, smooth and drinkable. Recommended.

Bottle from Mikkeller web shop. Smoky smell with dark malts, chocolate and coffee. Similar taste. More smoky then bacon ut I get what they where aiming for. More smoked ham rather then wood smoke or char. Not the best in the beer geek series.

330 ml bottle. Pours a ruby reddish black with a thick, creamy, resilient beige head. Aroma is salty, smoky, meaty and coffee. Flavor is coffee, roast, salty, meaty, mineral. Finish is slight mineral flavor, with hints of coffee bitterness. Lingering smoke and salt, with some bitterness. Medium to full body, average carbonation. Somewhat lacking in sweetness, it remains a solid stout.

pours unclear dark brown with a small light beige cap, some retention and lacing. burnt and smoky caramel, saltiness, peat rather than umami/bacon smokiness, resin, astrigent coffee berries, but also smoked red fruits, lots of leather, earth, wood, salt, iodine, chalk, some perfumey booze, vanilla traces. light carbonation, medium body - oily; dry and resinous-coffee finish. very good stuff.

Bottle from Koht. BB 24.02.2019. Pours dark brown, nearly black. Head’s beige with good retention and lacing. The nose... very unexpected! I imagined I’d sniff some straight up smoked pork but it’s really not that simple... More like deeply roasted pork, almost burnt yet still juicy, and covered in some sweet and piquant BBQ sauce (using chili, paprika and lime). Loads of roast. Smoky too. Tastes similar: very roasty, almost ashy, with coffee and good hoppy bitterness. Damn nice! Body medium. Near flat carbonation. Low on sweetness. More salty and bitter. The bitterness in the finish quickly turns roasty. Great stuff!

33cl bottle. Bbe ? /19. Pours black with a thin brown head. Aroma is very smoky, smoked meat, salty, with mocha notes. Flavor has smoke, meat, lovely coffee notes, mild tobacco notes. Dark chocolate notes lingering in the finish. Smooth, medium to full bodied. This is so good!

Not my favourite style but i think that this one is very good, with smoked meet to load the aroma and invades the mouth with some bacon and earthy finish. A good one,i like it
