Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks to Aaron for the pour! Thick black pour with nice tan head, aroma has notes of chlorine, hints of sour vinegar, hints of coffee, old sewer drainage, not good. Taste is a mix of sweet and minty earth, chocolate touch of bourbon, hints of earth, sewage. Not very good.

Bottle @ Dan’s house, picked up at De Molen. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a brown head that dissipates pretty quickly. Quite spicy, cardamom, light caramel, mild juicy whiskey, cookie aroma. Starts out a bit boring caramel/chocolate flavor and then explodes with whiskey, anise, chocolate, roasty malty deliciousness. I was a bit disappointed at first but it really turns into a delicious caramel/toffee/whiskey/chocolate goodness.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma is of bourbon, oak, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, oats and some charred oak notes. The flavor follows the nose, nice oak and bourbon flavor, some charred oak too, vanilla, dark caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt and oaty notes. The body is full with a creamy mouth feel. Overall a nice Stout, but the coffee as really faded over the years, I would have preferred it fresher.

Black colour, tan head. Aroma of coffee, milk chocolate, roasted malts, honey, vanilla and light smoke. Sweet flavour, bitter coffee, dark chocolate, light hops coming through. Finish quite alcoholic, coffee and chocolate.

Very dark brown beer, brownish creamy head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty boozy, heavy caramel, sugar, touch of smoke, vanilla, mocha, some coffee. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: dark chocolate, some caramel, bit hoppy, coffee, peppery. Aftertaste: bitter hops, some vanilla, dry, cocoa powder, coffee.

Poured from a waxed 500 mL bottle into a tulip. European version - 10.7% ABV. Batch 463.
The beer itself is a mahogany brown, nearly black. There is a walnut edge where just a little bit of light is able to push through. A mocha cap froths up on the initial pour and then fades to a small ring around the edge.
Sweet bourbon comes into the nose first, Although I am not sure exactly which whiskey was used, there is a strong sweet, spicy nature to the whiskey aroma to go along with the oak. Bitter coffee, roasted malt, and a bit of smoke are noticeable in the background.
The sweet, spicy whiskey flavor carries over from the nose. It steps in front of everything else at first. After a second the sweetness wears down, while the spicy flavors continue throughout the sip. Unsweetened dark chocolate, coffee grounds, and roasted malt comprise the flavor in the middle, and spicy whiskey and oak close out the flavor.
Bourbon Barrel Beer Geek Breakfast has a full body that is slightly cut by the whiskey and oak from the barrel. The carbonation is creamy and smooth; overall it has a fairly smooth consistency, although it is a little grainy as well.
The spicy whiskey on top of the base beer is a nice effect, and it is not too overstated. This is a very nice barrel aged beer.

A-- Poured a dark, murky, brownish black. Settled black. One finger dark brown/ Mocha colored head. Faded to a light milk chocolate film. Good Head retention but no alcohol legs or lacing with this.
S-- Dairy milk chocolate, some oak, little bit of bourbon and some coffee. Alcohol is much more obvious in the nose and gives off a sort of nail polish smell.
T-- Dairy milk, coffee, oats, slight amounts of bourbon, oak and quite thin.
M-- Slick and finishes slightly acidic dry in the mouth. Do get notes of burnt tires in the mid palate. Barrel notes are pretty well reserved. Better feel than the nose and taste as the oats do help the beer along
O-- Stylistically correct but missing something. maybe that the body is thinner, or maybe the oats make too late a run in this. Just missing something that makes this more than a decent beer.

Brune foncée, col café au lait.
Arôme de bourbon, réglisse, café et malt grillé sur un bouquet de vanille et de barrique.
Palais, bourbon est superbe, réglisse légère avec ces relents de bourbon et vanille sur une palais restant malté/torréfié. Paraît nettement plus que les 10% annoncé.
