Tap at CBC 2014. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Malty smokey aroma. Starts heavy malty, smokey, notes of strong coffee, bitter background. Finish milder, malty-smokey. Nice!

Keg at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, red session. 03/05/2014. Deep black, viscous pour with a lasting rich tan head. Aroma is really earthy coffee beans, vanilla, creamy caramel. Flavour is really dirty, earthy, rough coffee, light veg. Really dirty and rough, coffee beans. Dark harsh roast. Palate is full body, butty on the tongue. Overall this is way too raw.

CBC Session 3. Muddy looking dark brown beer, short lived dark tan head. Palate starts smooth but has a light crispness on the backend. Dry coffee and well buried burned malt. Whisper of malt cream. Dry finish. All round - quite mellow.

Draught @ CBC2014. Pours black with a good lacing thick creamy big head. Aroma is roasted malt, lots of earthy coffee, vanilla, chocolate. Taste is moderate+ sweet, bitter and light acidic. Body is medium, texture is oily/ a little thin, carbonation is moderate. Finishes acidic, roasted and dry.

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 4/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 5/20
ClubGonzo (4810) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 22, 2014
Tap sample at CBC 2014. Cherry red-hued black body, miniscule beige head. 3 Aroma is mild coffee and chocolate notes, hints of grains and bread dough. Far too mild for such an aggressively marketed beer IMO. 4 Taste is equally muted, with only a bit of coffee, mild vanilla, chocolate and grainy sweetness in the back. What’s going on with this one?? 4 Medium to watery body, soft to flat carbonation. A proper letdown, actually - and this is a festival edition as well...what gives? :-P
