Very great beer indeed. Not that quite different from the origin, but smoother and with a high drinkable palate with many notes like some smoke, whisky, oak , leather, roasted coffee, this special beergeek taste and just lovely and lordy.

500ml bottle via the Mikkeller shop. Brown with no head. Light peat, semi-roasted malt, some cocoa and oak, dry and bitter, surprisingly thin compared to most of the other BG beers, somewhat chalky as well, yet still tasty.

50 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with some sediment and pretty much no head. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and a little peat - with a slightly bitter finish.

Vintage 2009 shared by my uncle. Pours pitch Black with a Tiny Brown head. Aroma is amazing. Hard roasted malts, roasted coffee, Dark dried fruits, Dark raw chocolate notes, tar, Woody notes and sweet liquorice. Taste is rather dry and have alot Of Wood . Not in a bad Way. Also alot Of the stuer from the aroma - especially the liquorice is dominating. Also the coffee and some Dark dried fruits very clear. Rather savory as well.

Thanks for sharing, Vincent! 50cL bottle @ RBBSG II. Pours a very dark brown with virtually no head. The smell is peat, roasted malt, dark fruit and licorice. The taste is coffee, roasted malt, peat and dry on the ending. Medium/full body with mild carbonation.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBSG II. Opaque pitch black color, small light brown head. Aroma is way less present than the islay brunch weasel we just tried. Much smoother. Taste is the same. Flavors are much more subtle and smooth. Soft carbonation, medium body.
