Black, no head. Lots of peat and whisky in the aroma. Alcohol in the aroma w coffee. Taste is very roasted with lots of coffee and chocolate. lots of wood. Some roasted burnt flavors in the finish with some nuts. Overall pretty dry. Very good but not as good as the original.

This spent some time in the basement. Pours deep brown without head. A tad watery, some smoke and coffee in the secondary. Ok drinkability. I note this was brewed in March 2009.

Bottle. Speyside Edition - Cask Edition. 3 1/2 month on Scotch Speyside Whiskey Barrel. Carb labelled as low. Pours a dark inky black/brown with a minimal, i mean minimal, mocha tan head. Head is more just some bubbles hanging out on the side of the glass. Roast, dark chocolate, whiskey notes in the nose. Medium mouthfeel. Roast, leather, dark chocolate bitterness. Meh, not that great. the flatness is doing it any favors to say the least. It’s actually somewhat bland which is a surprise.

Bottle share. So dark, cloudy brown/almost black. Aroma of espresso, warm chocolate cake, dark fruit, wood. Taste is sweet and bitter, both from chocolate and coffee. Sticky, dry finish.

[My bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o Glouglouburp. Batch No 412, 17.03.09] Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a small bubbly semi-lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, oak, smoke and some sweetness -- barrel-aging is subtle which I appreciate. Flavour follows the aroma but is milder and slightly watery. Average bodied. Great aroma and really good flavour.

2014-10-09. Black body with a small tan head. 3+ Aroma is boozy with a good amount of smokey whiskey character over sweet dark malt. Flavour has sweet rich dark malt base, lightly tangy and mild smokey whiskey quality. Average bodied palate, soft to low carbonation. Pretty decent but not to my tastes. Bottle Batch 412 shared by Blankboy.

Bottle: Thanks Papsø: Vintage 2009: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer thin vanilla lacing. Aroma has loads of wood, oak, then some serious vinous notes and a lot of fruit (think red and much darker) with a sweet tar edge. Special! Flavours of tobacco, roast, oat, mocha... Berries... Liquorice...? Infected? Aftertaste is thin and very quick disappearing: some roaat, berries, dryness, light light tart and coal. Low carbo, watery mouthfeel, more than medium bodied and a dry texture. Aroma is sublimely vinous and woody. Flavour is ok, the aftertaste is meh... It’s not that old is it...

September 9, 2014 - shared by blankboy with me, jercraigs & mabel. 500ml bottle - batch #412. Somewhat thin-looking oily black pour, small bubbley beige/tan head. Smells .... wonderful. Nut oil dark roast, hint of coffee, and lovely, lovely somewhat smoky dry woody ’hiskey aroma - not a lot of wood, but definitely has some heat - daaaamn. Sadly, it’s light-bodied, slick, still, a little boozy and ... still liked it. LOVE that aroma.
