Had to knock overall score down due to bottle carbonation because it would not stop foaming and would not pour well. Poured from a bomber, deep black in color with a non stop foaming head. Aroma is huge dark fruits made up of cherries and figs, slight Oak. Flavor of green coffee, with a sour fruit finish. Not a horrible beer, but the beer Gypsy has brewed better.

A mostly smooth, tight khaki head fades to a thin ring with a few dots of lace over a black body flashing thin dark amber highlights

Lively dark notes of wonderfully smooth, assertive medium and dark roast coffee full of juicy red berry characteristics and woody earth with dark chocolate, light toffee, and accents of molasses and smoke with oaky finesse on a silky medium body offering rounded, medium carbonation, and an oily residual full of medium and dark roast with bursts of woody berry components, as smooth and delicious as the original on what seems to be a slightly lighter body, and possibly a bit more focus on the medium roast nuances

750ml cork and cage served at 55° and warming into 13.375oz Riedel Swirl white wine

750ml bottle. Jet black colour with huge, thick, frothy to creamy, long lasting, moderately lacing, brown head. Chocolately dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, cappuccino, mocha, white coffee, a cautious touch of oak, an evaporating floral and "Hubba Bubba" bubblegum-like bretty touch. Taste is initially dry, roasty dark malty, later with additional notes of coffee, mocha, very subtle sweetness, bitter, minimally herbal hoppy overtones; hints of oak in the finish. Not as overwhelming as the regular version.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours blackish reddish dark brown with a dark mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, espresso coffee, salty liquorice hard candy, moist resinous wood, vanilla fudge and hints of chocolate. Taste is bitter and malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, burnt coffee, burnt wood, coffee hard candy, liquorice hard candy and hints of resin and vanillin. Mouthfeel is soft, round, heavy roasted astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter and slightly malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, burnt wood, espresso coffee, moist soil, resin and liquorice. Tastes alot like poorly made burnt espresso on a burnt caramel maltbase. Disappointment…

Trockener malziger Antrunk, intensive Kaffeenoten. Würzig, durch den Kaffee zu trocken, etwas Süße hätte gut getan. Herber Kaffeeabgang, nicht ganz rund. 11/9/7/10/12/11

Shared 750 ml. bottle. Started with a "shot gun" cork extraction, then poured to snifters with a black/brown hue, overly active & frothy, tan head foam that reduced slowly, and thick, wavy lacing. The nose was extremely roasted, with rich espresso, and hints of cocoa & toffee. Somewhat full bodied, with overly effervescent carbonation that interrupted the tasting a bit, but a pleasant creaminess to the mouthfeel, and bitterness that was quite lingering, earthy, & dry, with some hints of smoke & wood. A few hiccups(& burps) but otherwise impressive.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy roasted malt, coffee, lighter chocolate, molasses, light pine, oak, faint vanilla, and smoke. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a one finger creamy tan head that eventually fades to a thin foam. There is a good amount of thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate and a touch of molasses. The finish has moderate roasted coffee, roasted malt, lighter pine, oak, and a touch of vanilla. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, it’s been awhile since I’ve had the regular Beer Geek Breakfast. This is really good, but I believe I liked the regular version better.
