MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Jun 28, 2009 [Bottle] Pours pitch black with a large tan head. Aroma has lots of roasted malts and coffee, and not much else. Flavor is really thin and watery, bitter roasted coffee, and somewhat acrid. Not a huge fan of this one, and I generally love oatmeal stouts. junon (213), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Jun 27, 2009 Damn. Havent enjoyed a beer this much in a long time. Head is full and ice cream float like. Lacing is beautiful with 3 different shades after swirling.. Really small compact suds. Gorgeous. Aroma is not quite as powerful as I hoped. Definite chocolate, coffee, and roasted notes. Mouth feel is what Ive come to expect from stouts. Ive had some thin stouts and porters and this is far from them. I think Ive found my new favourite stout. However at $11? Itll have to be an indulgence. donato (1), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA does not count Jun 27, 2009 Picked up a bottle at the Wine Stop in Honolulu, had it with Breakfast off course.
Poured in a wine glass, solid black liquid with a thick espresso cream head that lasted to the very last drop. Aroma of the finest coffee, barley and bitter cocoa. I could not stop drinking this beer, more tan Outstanding, i describe this beer as "PHENOMENAL"
Thank you Mikkeller! angrypirate06 (680), Texas, USA Jun 27, 2009 Bottle. Brown foamy head over black body. Aroma of coffee, smoke. Long lasting head. Flavor was bacon, bbq, smoke, then finished with a hit of coffee. Nice creamy mouthfeel. curly (549), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jun 26, 2009 Solid black pour with a thick brown head. Delicious coffee and cream aroma. This beer coats the entirity of your mouth in a thick coffee blanket that is quite bitter. Very dynamic flavor, finishes like coffee. l1br4r14n (274), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 23, 2009 Aroma of light coffee and roasted malt. Flavor is big time smoky, bitter cocoa, and some coffee. This stout is the antithesis of the beer geek brunch. crzybob77 (528), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 22, 2009 Full of flavor, yet quite drinkable. The most prominent flavors are dark chocolate and oatmeal. This is one hell of a stout with very rich and decedent flavor. Tranquillity (1165), Espoo, Finland Jun 20, 2009 Bottle from the Nogne O batch. Black body, thick brown head. Aroma sweet, porridge, mämmi, coffee and tar. Very strong. The taste is of greek coffee, a bit sour, chocolate and with an extremely long finish. Very silky palate.
