bluevegie (2169), Perth, Australia Jun 19, 2009 Tight beaded, large tan head head on a deep black body. Some minty hops come and go in this aroma, then the coffee notes then some burnt/smoked characters. Well integrated flavours in the taste, coffee, touch of smoke, light chocolate, with a medium to full body and hardly noticeable alcohol. Taste is as good as the aroma promises but I couldn’t wait till breakfast to try this. radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jun 18, 2009 500 ml bottle. Pours a pitch black color, extremely thick. Small tan head. Aroma is coffee, toffee, oats, licorice. Bitter to the max. Flavor is great. Nice oatmeal, coffee, caramel flavors with a small, but almost non-existent "warming" from the alcohol since it’s not too overpowering. Great finish. Wonderful! syton98 (40), USA Jun 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark and seemingly thick with a nice (all be it small) tan head. Aroma is part coffee with hints of oats and a little black licorice. Taste is close to a strong bitter coffee that you dipped an oatmeal cookie in. The bitterness of the coffee flavor tends to hand on adding to the stong after taste. All in all not a bad brew cprochak (388), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with awesome tan head and great lacing. Coffee dominates aroma with licorice undertones. Taste is dominated by a little harsh coffee, leaving a bitter finish on the tongue. Medium body that is slick and creamy, with some lively fizz. Great beer, but I can’t justify the cost ($16). Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 14, 2009 Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Pours a dark brown muddy body with a thick brown frothy head. Strong, complex malty hoppy aroma with coffeeish, chocolate, and roasty hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Taste carries strong roasted coffee flavors as well as vanilla, chocolate and brown sugar notes. Ends with a long, warming bitter/roasty finish. Outstanding Stout! vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Jun 14, 2009 Bottle. Great stout, will buy this again if i can find it. Oatmeal/Coffee flavored stout at its best. Yum. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jun 13, 2009 Pours very dark brown with a good sized tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, oatmeal, and slight hops. Taste is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and oatmeal. Just a very complex beer with great tastes on many different levels. chrisv10 (335), Denmark Jun 13, 2009 Updated: Oct 26, 200950 cl bottle.Pours with a tan head with a very dark brown body.
