English: An oatmeal stout with 25.0% oat-based ingredients and a nice touch of gourmet coffee. A beer that goes extremely well with breakfast.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pils, oat, smoked, caramunich, brown, pale chocolate and chocolate), roasted barley, flaked oats, hops (centennial and cascade), ale yeast and gourmet coffee.

This fine Stout pours a glossy near-black color with a thick and rocky light brown head that has good retention. Nice big patches of lacing on the glass. Big roasty aroma of coffee, oats, and chocolate malt. Rich, smooth body with a character somewhere between an Oatmeal Stout and an Imperial Stout. Flavors of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and hops are all present. All in all the beer manages the smooth texture and flavor of an Oatmeal Stout while toying with the robust body of an Imperial. The finish is moderately bitter coffee and hops balanced but malt and chocolate. Overall this is an excellent Stout.

The flavors of an imperial stout, but the alcohol and dryness of a stout. Black body with big-bubbled, tan head. Rich aroma of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. The flavor is lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Very dry finish along with a coffee bitterness. Medium body and slightly watery texture. Velvety mouthfeel. Excellent.

The best no impy stout i have ever drank. Pours out like burnt motor oil with a nice brown head. aroma has alot of coffee and malt to it. Flavor is very much the same. Very thick. Oh i would love to drink this bad boy for breakfast.

Actually tastes like crappy acidic coffee. Some creamy oatmeal smoothness in there, but otherwise itís harsh and bitter. I donít mind the bitterness, but the acidity is too much. Somewhat watery as well. Smooth palate disappears quite fast and gets thin. Vanilla flavor is there as well. Flavorful, but just doesnít blow me away at all.

Thanks to my Secret Santa, July 2007: Pours oil can black with a healthy mocha head that slowly fades. The aroma is deep and rich - lots of dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla bean, mocha, roasted malt and earth. The oats create a full and chewy mouthfeel, the perfect vehicle for the rich body. The body is loaded with bitter chocolate, caramel and espresso. A slight atringency from the coffee is the only real flaw I can see. Good, good stuff.

I actually saved it to have it with breakfast. Jet black in the glass with a nice tan head. Roasted aroma with some sweetness involved. Tasted just about how it reads on the bottle. Very smooth. Finish leaves only a hint of malt with coffee. Went great with eggs and sausage. $18.50 for the bottle here in Philly.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2008 Poured deathly, oily black with deep tan head. The aroma on this was a complete shock. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma obviously, but a distinct pine hop aroma that compliments the other aromas and adds a complexity. The aroma really makes the mouth water. Flavor was what you might expect, chocolate, cherries, malt, expresso, nuts. Finish is really smooth, extremely drinkable, with only a lasting coffee bitterness and a little chalky in the mouth. Some of the recent ratings suggest that maybe this beer is slipping in the top 50, or that maybe they overpaid for this bomber, I canít say either. This beer was worth every penny I paid and lived up to all of my expectations. This is a stout loverís stout. I highly recommend.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2008 Sampled in a blind tasting among Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, Alaskan Stout, Dickís Lava Rock Porter, and Coors Light. hah, well this was the clear winner of the night, right behind Coors Light. This was the darkest of the ales with a distinct ebony color and a dark tan head. The lacing is clingy and viscous. Man, this stuff smells great. This is easily the most robust of the four, packed full of rich chocolate, a notably fresh Latin American coffee scent, oatmeal, toasted almonds, and grill smoke. This has a dense mouthfeel with distinct, defined toasted oats, ash, rich milk chocolate, fresh java, and a delightfully tastefully syrupy finish. This is not very aggressive, just rich, balanced, bold, robust, and savory. I love it.

Bottle. Pours black with some faint reds somewhere in the body and an everlasting very dark tan head. The aroma sports tons of well defined dark roasted coffee, but thatís not all. Excellent tones of dark chocolate, ash, oatmeal, and milky sweetness are found. This is hearty and enjoyable. Though it is over-the-top in the coffee department, that flavor is well rounded with an almost sweet, roasty character. Not one dimensional by any means, Beer Geek Breakfast wows my palate with hints of toffee, chocolate, oatmeal, and a powdered milk finish.

Pours a thick, black, and soupy w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Superb hangtime reducing to a satin canopy w/ full sticky lacing. Aromas of sweet roasted coffee bean and dense chocolate malts. Full nectar w/ creamy residual effers. Nice! A big roast component is balanced by a mild sweetness then promptly bittered. Strongly flavored w/ bitter cocoa, roasted coffee bean, leather, and molases. Other nuances of dried rose petal, cherry skins, herbs. The cocoa is so strong it just coats the palate w/ a thick blanket. Then Robo Hop comes round with itís machine guns blazing reducing the cocoa to a mere afterthought. Robo Hop leaves an asprin aftermath to cleans the palate like they used fire back in the dark ages for purification. The finish is long and bittered perfectly for a good balance. A very rich brew, more like a meal. It deserves all the attention coming itís way. Highly recommended.

I was really excited to find this and more surprised that it was only $16. Probably shouldnít have cosumed it under the conditions that i did but you only live once. poured into a blue solo cup and maybe 60 degrees. super thick pour with a dark brown head. big coffee and chocolate aroma. flavor was uber sweet and rich. kind of syrupy and stingy. honestly, a little bit let down. and iím surprised itís only 7.5%. not worth $16.
