4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
black body & super tall dense foamy sienna brown head. aroma of chocolate mochachino. mouthfeel is smooth, yet high carbonation. flavor is very dry coffee malt, as deep roasted as you can get without being burnt. chocolate malts are in the background compared to the coffee flavor, but bittersweet like baking chocolate or high cacao bars. this is a deep roasted coffee/dark chocolate loverís beer. went very well with an authentic italian pastry from north NJ. thanks a million, Madsberg for this in trade!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. Pours dark brown with a multi-colored head of cream and dark brown. Very tingly mouthfeel. Coffee flavors are pronounced. The foam and lacing just lingers beautifully in the glass. You should drink this stuff out of a coffee cup. Yum.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2009 RBSG 2006, Grand Tasting. Pours dark black with a beige head. Nose of vibrant green hops and chocolate. Flavor has notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, earth and a pleasant burnt bitter back end taste. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Quite good. RERATE- from a bottle Iíve had for over a year. Awesome, smooth bold dark chocolate with subtle coffee flavor. Keep wanting more of this. A mix between Stout and Imperial Stout - very drinkable.

I got to rate this side by side with the Great Lakes Bourbon Barrel Stout and this was my favorite.
Thanks to Ungstrup for bringing another winner!
Pours black with a light tan head that hangs forever.
Rich aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malts.
Well balanced flavor that combines the aromas with a nice dry finish from the roast malts.
