| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 9, 2009 Bursting aroma of caramel and light chocolate. Huge rocky, off-white head. This is a cup of coffee in beer form. I like the hoppiness - it seems the grassiness of the centennials is balanced by the roast. Lingering char. Very tasty, zach8270 (2079), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 8, 2009 (bottle - 500 ml) Dark black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is rich and roasted with tons of coffee notes. Flavor is much the same. Incredible roasted coffee flavor with a slightly sweet and malty middle. Bitter aftertaste lingers on the palate for a while and leaves a good roasted taste. Outstanding. Gypsy19 (617), California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 7, 2009 Updated: Jun 8, 2009Pours an opaque brownish-black with a lasting brown head. Aroma is very chocolatey, sweet smelling, coffee. Nice powerful aroma. Flavor is glorious: Very chocolatey, and highly of espresso, tar, cigar tobacco, leather. Very agressive and profound flavor. Leaves the mouth coated for a long aftertaste. Booze is barely detectable. Nice thick, sticky viscosity, as well as a little fizzy. This stuff is more profound than many imperial stouts out there, forget just stouts. I love it and wish I had more. This stuff is just amazing. Overall, elite, world-class. Thanks Mikkeller.

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 7, 2009 Impressive thick (4-finger) tan head. Incredible staying power--like foam; leaves thick chunky lace. Near black where no light shines through.
Semi-sweet chocolate smell. Some black patent smells in the background. Very attractive.
More harsh (read: bitter) than the smell would indicate. Lots of black patent flavor. Tastes like an iced coffee with cream. Decent body with a high level of carbonation for balance. Creamy. This could be the closest thing to a perfect stout. TheBeerOrg (1568), Kentucky, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 4, 2009 Nutty malt aroma. Smells like real nuts thats nuts and coffee too. BLACK color with a large brown head. Moderately sweet beginning with a mild finish. Light palate for a beer this dark making it really easy to drink. Skyview (4011), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 4, 2009 Picked up a 22-oz bottle from Discount Liquors in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque new black onyx colored brew with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to a swirl film top. Aroma of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate a hint of coffee, and more cocoa. Taste if full bodied, thick and chewy, with flavors of toasted and smoked dark malt, chocolate, coffee and a hint of molasses. Finish is mildly bitter with a lingering dark chocolate and smoked dark malt aftertaste. Most excellent.
