At tasting session by Joes. A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of smoke/roated malts, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste is dry with coffee, some dark chocolate. It’s bitter in a gentle way, with notes of dark fruits. The aftertaste is bitter and dry.

Rating #600. Pours black with creamy brown head. Aromas of burnt malts and coffee. Roasted malt flavor with sweet dark chocolate and coffee and a slightly bitter finish. Full body with soft carbonation and a velvety mouthfeel. Excellent.

Bottle from City Beer for breakfast with a piece of chocolate cake - breakfast of champions! Pours jet black and thick with a big brown head that lasts. Aroma is lots of coffee, bitter chocolate, and roast. Flavor is roasted malt, heavy on the coffee, with chocolate and noticeable alcohol on the finish. Creamy palate with oatmeal and a full mouthfeel. An excellent stout. Chocolate cake pairing recommended.

Pours jet black, viscous like thick gravy and a huge brown foamy head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, malt and some alcohol. Taste is very complex, lots of chocolate and coffee flavours, and an oaty savoury edge with a malty/oaty sweet background. Finishes medium bitter and the coffee comes through more. Enjoyable strong thick beer.
