Mar 1, 2009 Pours black into a snifter. Mocha medium sized head with excellent retention slowly recedes leaving spot lacing. Chocolate syrup, espresso and oatmeal aromas. Sharp espresso and chocolate upfront with a lasting espresso finish. Sours slightly in the finish at it warms.

Feb 25, 2009 Bouteille de 500 ml. Nos yeux observent une bière de couleur noire que même les ténèbres ne peuvent traverser. Que dire du col de mousse couleur café qui s’impose du début jusqu’à la fin de la dégustation. Au nez on découvre des arômes complexes de chocolat, de grain gumé, de grain torréfié et de cône de houblon frais. En bouche la bière possède un bon corps ainsi qu’une effervescence moyenne et très crémeuse. On goûte des saveurs de café, de chocolat noir et de grain fumé, le tout finalisé par une amertume de houblon et de torréfaction parfaitement balançé. Wow Very Nice Brew!

Feb 18, 2009 bottle: pours very black with a huge tan head that recedes to a good line of head. aroam has lots of oats and a lot of sweet malt, and chocolate. then th ecoffe kicks in and adds a good roast, but seems light. i loe the sweet oatmeal aroam though. flavour is alot of coffe much more than is in the noce, followed by plenty of dark chocolate and touches of the oat. but th eoat makes the beer so smooth and tasty. the finish is just like a shot of espresso very nice beer.

Feb 18, 2009 16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a deep black with a dark brown head. Notes of coffee and roasted malt. Wonderful aftertaste of roasted malt and coffee. I prefer this beer over Black Hole. Breakfast is good in the morning, noon or night.

Feb 16, 2009 black with a large brown head. Aroma is of oats, cocoa, chocolate and fresh coffee. Taste is of roasted malts, dark chocolate, oatmeal and coffee. Thick and smooth mouthfeel.

Feb 15, 2009 Bottle $12.99 Julio’s Liquors - This one tasted real fine. Very dark color. More chocolate than coffee taste. Nice creamy head. If I were to have a beer for breakfast this would be a fine choice! Instead had as desert. Will definitely seek out more Mikkeller.

Feb 15, 2009 Bottle - Poured black with medium tan head.
Aroma - coffee and oat scent. I just had devil over barrel by Tyranena and this is mild.
Flavor - coffee and chocolate with a little vanilla.
Palate - heavy mouthfeel with average carbonation. Creamy smooth on tongue with dry roasted almost smokey finish.
Overall - Great beer with more of subdued coffee aroma and flavor. Definite breakfast brew!!

looks fucking great great tan hea...great head retention and lacing...but seems a bit one noted and not a ton of complexity and not a ton of coffee flavor? decent but will I buy it again?????? not so much
