Wow Very Nice Brew! mcbackus (738), Merritt Island, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 18, 2009 bottle: pours very black with a huge tan head that recedes to a good line of head. aroam has lots of oats and a lot of sweet malt, and chocolate. then th ecoffe kicks in and adds a good roast, but seems light. i loe the sweet oatmeal aroam though. flavour is alot of coffe much more than is in the noce, followed by plenty of dark chocolate and touches of the oat. but th eoat makes the beer so smooth and tasty. the finish is just like a shot of espresso very nice beer. More chocolate than coffee taste. Nice creamy head. If I were to have a beer for breakfast this would be a fine choice! Instead had as desert. Will definitely seek out more Mikkeller. Aroma - coffee and oat scent. I just had devil over barrel by Tyranena and this is mild.
Flavor - coffee and chocolate with a little vanilla.
Palate - heavy mouthfeel with average carbonation. Creamy smooth on tongue with dry roasted almost smokey finish.
Overall - Great beer with more of subdued coffee aroma and flavor. Definite breakfast brew!! ironchefscott (342), portland, Oregon, USA
