5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Truly fantastic stout. Rich and luxurious. Black body with thick mid-brown head. Aroma as expected with coffee, cocoa, toffee and flavour follows this but with the alcohol warmth and a good hop bitterness to finish off. Up there with the De Molen Rusian stout series and that is praise indeed.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 0,33l. Pours a dark brown with a tan head that settles quickly. Aroma is heavy on malts with chocolate and coffee in the end. Flavor is very roasty with mocha, and a mildly bitter finish. Palate is lighter than expected but very creamy.

FROM NOTES: June 29, ’12
Served in cellar temerature from a 22 ounce bottle into brandy snifter.
A: Espresso, roasted malt, dark chocolate notes and a little bit of yeast and alcohol.
A: Pours pitch black with a big creamy, foamy light-brown head.
T: Strong roasted malt with notes of chocolate. Strong coffee taste but blended well with other tastes. This goes down dangerously well. Very robust flavors.
P: Thick and full bodied, yet so smooth. Velvety smooth and absolute delight!
O: This is the best coffee stout I’ve had in a very long time, maybe ever. While it is, in fact, an imperial oatmeal stout, the intricate mix of malts lends itself to an excellent mouth-feel and velvety smooth taste. I have to say that Mikkeller succeeded in creating a truly smooth and delicious beer.

Pours deep black revealing a bitter, fizzante stout full of coffee that no doubt goes well with breakfast. An espresso shot for alcoholics!
