Pours dark brown/black with a medium mocha head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, and a bit of anise and vanilla. Taste is oatmeal, coffee, chocolate, and a bit of vanilla. As my brother pointed out, the mouthfeel is very silky and creamy - ala, on nitro.

500mL bottle purchased from Bruisin Ales in Asheville. Poured a dark brown/black color with a three finger brown head into a snifter. The aroma was coffee, bitter chocolate and some roasted malt. I seriously could have smelled this forever. Flavor is chocolate, oats and a hint of coffee. Medium/full body with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. I really enjoyed this beer. The aroma and flavor are exactly what I expect in a stout.

Thanks to my bro for sharing this. Pours a rich dark brown with medium sized mocha-esque head. Aroma is of coffee, light chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is light coffee, mild milk chocolate, oatmeal and roasted malt. The body is incredibly silky. It seems almost seems like it was on nitro it’s that smooth. Great stuff!

Aroma is nutty with lots of nice coffee. aroma is kind of acidic astringent which is really the only complaint I have with it. Finish has a lot of really good nutty coffee. Palate is pretty smooth with tiny bubbles, slightly thin. Excellent lasting finish with good chocolate. Coffee is really well incorporated in this beer.

Very attractive black pour, with thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, burnt malts, oatmeal. Flavor is nicely balanced, but tends towards the bitter. With coffee, chocolate and roasted malts really come through here. A little over the top in the early finish with notes of ash, but this fades quickly into delicious coffee. Palate is slightly on the thin side, but still pretty full. Very good beer.

Nice black pour with a tan head. Beautiful coffee aroma. Definitely added to the list of beers I want to wake up and start drinking, probably to adverse effects. Flavor is sweet coffee, burnt malts, and a little roasted bitterness. Fairly nice body. Beer is pretty good, similar but a little better than Bell’s Java Stout.

Bomber. Pours a opaque black viscous oily texture color with a small brown head. Nose of coffee, chocolate, oak, and some roasted malt. Initial taste is sweet but not too cloying balanced by touch of coffee and roasted malt. Mid palate demonstrates some vanilla/oak. Finishing with a mild chocolate and roasted malt. Full bodied. Above average palate duration. Well balanced and very drinkable.

Good brew, sampled at Darkness Day. Dark brown pour, tan head. Aroma is coffee dominant with some chocolate and bourbon. Flavor is heavy, dark coffee with roasted chocolate and vanilla. Coffee is a bit overpowering but not too bad.
