| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Sep 6, 2008 Pours black and has a brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, matls, and wood. Taste is of roasted malts, strong coffee, and dark chocolate. Body isn’t as heavy as I had expected, making it go down easy. Lingering bitter chocolate taste. I could easily drink this on a regular basis. Ends with a stong bitter taste. ErikTheViking (76), Oslo, Norway
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 6, 2008 6 Sept 08: Black, with a generous dark head. 7 different types of malt, barly, wheat, 2 types of hops and coffee makes it very comøex. Burnt malt with roasty finish. A bit sweet maybe. Very expensive. Maybe I should have it breakfast next time, I was a bit disappointed. jacobwennbom (274), Uppsala, Sweden
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 6, 2008 Black with big but shortlasting darkbrown head. Fresh hoppy aroma, citric in essence. Further more there is burnt malt and coffee. More than anything taste is of malt burnt to the point of outright bitterness (that lingers to say the least). On a more subtle level there is some sort of x-masish spice and instant coffee-powder. Carbonation is pretty low. The overall problem in my opinion is that the burnt bitterness gets to much space on the palate. Plus that I don’t feel it really has anything elese going for it. Not satisfied. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 6, 2008 0,5 l bottle. Pours a nice thick lasting brown lid, leaves traces all the way down the glass. Aroma of heavy dark choclate and coffee, burnt malt. Nice balanced carbonation, feels tingly in the mouth, but still a rather thick body. Tastes a lot of dark choclate and coffee, well balanced roasted malt gives a nice taste of smoke. Some hoppy bitterness in the finish. Excellent beer. I haven’t tried at breakfast, but it works very well with choclate deserts. blutt59 (2092), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 4, 2008 bottle. jet black pour with a huge thick brown head that slowly dissipated. aroma of coffee, roasted malts and some spice (light cinnamon maybe). flavors of burnt caramel and coffee. sweet malts balance things - but the bitterness is long and even - tough to explain, but somehow different than similar minded stouts I’ve had. the texture is thick and slightly chalky on the finish. If I were a wealthy alcoholic, this would definitely be my drink of choice in the morning. K-8.5 IlanMan (817), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Bottle two year aged: Pours a hefty dark black thick with a dark tan head. Aroma is quite complex with sweet malt, coffee, high roasted malt, oats, chocolate. Flavors are the same but very well blended. Extremely smooth mouth feel due to the oats. I’m a fan of the style for sure. They say this goes well with breakfast but I think it IS a breakfast!
