Bottle from Bottle Trek in Eugene, OR. This reminded me of morning coffee and oatmeal. It poured super dark with limited head, and smelled of espresso/coffee. Unfortunately, we drank this immediately after another bottle of Speedway Stout (Imperial), and it was very thin by comparison. Still, it was damn good, especially for a straight stout!

Botte from Bottle Trek in Eugene, OR. Poured a black color with limited head. Smelled of roasted malts and coffee. If there was a beer I would drink with breakfast. The taste of espresso was overwhelming. Tasted more like coffee than beer. Overall pretty good.

Bottle, 50 cl - A pitch black beer with a large frothy dark brown head. Complex aroma with strong notes of high percentage chocolate, dark roasted coffee and tobacco. Flavor is robust, with a smooth maltiness. Strong notes of espresso, much due to its acidity, with hints of chocolate and roasted coffee beans. It’s saltiness and bitterness makes wonder if this isn’t really an imperial stout. Gets better the closer it gets to the right temperature!

Bottle courtesy of Gillard. Pours black with a nice nutty head. Taste is a little bitter. Aroma is filled with a nice coffee. I noticed a very subtle lactose. Mouthfeel, the coffee isn’t as presentt as others, and it remains the low point of this rating. The beer remains highly drinkable, filled with nice flavors.

Talk about cocoa and coffee aroma and flavor. Great dark appearance with nice, thick head. Only disappointment was with the palate - more thin than I expected for something as dark and rich. I very much enjoyed and would have again.

Bottle. Almost black with a big, brown, lacing head. Great coffee, peat and milk aroma. Complex flavours of salt, peat, roasted coffee, some chocolate and milk. Soft and velvety. A treat, not only for breakfast.
