Brutal coffee flavour on this one. And some smokiness too! Well, you actually could drink this for breakfast, cause it’s probably more calories in it than in the danish "smorebroed" lol.
Well, on the more serious note, very much coffee, and some dark chocolate in the flavour. A slight hint of smokiness as i wrote above. Not worth the expensive price though. 59 SEK = about 9 Dollars. Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Jun 20, 2008 Bottle pours black with a monster tan head and lace sheets like it loves the glass. The aroma is of sweet espresso, chocolate, and malt. The flavor is bitter chocolate, coffee, oats, and bitterness in the linger. The palate is slick and lively. This is well done. grimreeser (795), Minnesota, USA Jun 17, 2008 Pours extrrmely dark. Aroma is roasted chocolate coffee. Flavor is bitter, a little sweet. Not really made for my tastes. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland Jun 15, 2008 Bottled. Pitch black in color, minor beige head, lacings. The aroma is that of roasted malt, a dry bitterness, fullfilling. The flavor is damp with alcohol, malty with a dry finis. The is an aftertaste of burnt malt. sirpsycho (342), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a nice deep brown head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, coffee and malt. Flavor is again sweet chocolate and roasted coffee. Nicely done. tennisjoel (931), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Jun 14, 2008 Pour is black with a thick cocoa colored head. Maybe even a slight hint of orange in the head. Aroma reminds me a lot of Rogue Shakespeare. Complex and nice. Coffee is the ingredient of the day here, although it is well balanced with oats, vanilla, slight smoke, and chocolate as well. Very well crafted and good without the alcohol kick. Reminded me a lot of Shakespeare, one of my highest rated of the non imperial stouts. antzman (313), Clarksville, Indiana, USA Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours jet black with a fizzy brown head, that took several minutes to go down. Fizzy brown lacing on the glass that quickly dissipates. The aroma is of dark malts, coffee. The flavor is full of roasted malts, tons of coffee and just a hint of baker’s chocolate. I was not overwhelmed by this one, but there is a lot of potential. I can’t wait to age one of these to see if it improves.
