ColoradoMatty (16), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 5, 2009 Wow, oh my goodness. Best breakfast I have ever had. This is something else. Very rich smell and tastes similar to Kona coffee. I am a stout guy and a coffee guy. This stuff takes the cake! I only wish I would have bought more. At least I can get it one mile away. =) Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Sep 3, 2009 Rich aroma is like a fine roast coffee with a firm chocolate undertone and a hint of yeast. It pours a deep, opaque sable with a very thick cinnamon tan head that sticks around for a while. Flavor is more like fine mocha coffee than beer, but has hints of malt and yeast and a nutty touch so you know it is indeed brew. Flavor is oily smooth yet edgy, quite tingly and fizzy, leaving a smoky coffee finish that has an undertone of unsweetened chocolate. Chrism86 (273), Melbourne, Australia Sep 2, 2009 Pours deep dark black with a hint of brown around the rim, huge fluffy tan coloured head. Nose has a heap of dark roasted malt, but not appearing astringent as some coffee beers do. The malt is perfectly rounded, some sweetness, some honeycomb, a touch of smoke & of course the coffee. Palate has surprisingly lively carbonation, not over the top but a touch more than i expected. Much like the nose, the malt is so well rounded. Has a bit of everything with the coffee standing out, but not overpowering. Finishes with rich coffee notes, but in no way astringent. Lively carbonation dries it up a touch as well. Hops are there, but play second fiddle to the well controlled coffee notes. Awesome beer! Clearly alot of thought has gone into the malt selection and it has paid off, cant wait to try the weasel!! arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 1, 2009 I have been wanting to try this beer since I first spotted it on the shelf and I finally plunked down the $14 to try a bomber. The pour is a not surprising inky-black with a dark brown head that reminds me of Bell’s Expedition it is so dark. The smell is heavy roasted coffee with oats lurking at the edges. The smell is really good if you like coffee. The taste seems to be more oat than coffee with some bitterness like dark chocolate at the end and then the coffee coming back to slap you in the face! The mouthfeel is neither too thin nor too syrupy, just right and the alcohol is well masked by the flavors of the beer. In my opinion this beats Founder’s Breakfast Stout by a hair or two. This was worth the price of admission but only for one viewing. If you are a coffee-beer fan then you should probably seek this one out.

Flavor is a bit more coffee with chocolate and more subtle sugars followed by a bourbon finish. Nice beer malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Aug 27, 2009 16.9 ounce bottle in Sam Adams glass. Black with thick dense light brown head and lace. Bready chocolate and roasted coffee aroma. Mildly smokey chocolate and subtle roasted coffee with some dark fruit and just the right touch of green hop flavor in the clean medium bitter finish. Awesome thick rich creamy mouthfeel. Incredible richness and balance. One of the best beers. A true work of art. smashteroid (227), USA Aug 26, 2009 Delicious. Served cold from bottle. Jet black. Reddish head. Aroma of coffee. Flavor is coffee and cream, very smooth and quite drinkable. Just a really good stout, easy to consume and tasty. Highly recommended. italarican (157), Astoria, New York, USA Aug 26, 2009 Beautiful pour: black with a thick, airy, slowly fading reddish mocha head. Aroma of coffee, plum, licorice, and some dark chocolate. Slightly acetic character in the nose. Feels wonderfully smooth as I sip. Flavor has loads of coffee with notes of malt, licorice, and bourbon. Nice and velvety. There’s a slightly hoppy finish with some milk chocolate syrup and tons of roasted malt goodness. I said “Mmmmmmm” after the first sip, and I stand by that.
