Thick dense black pour with dark tan head and thin spotted lacing. Smell is roasted coffee and chocolate and earthy. Taste is a great roasted espresso and finish is strong yummy coffee. Very good mouthfeel - very creamy and fits the flavor ideally. So very drinkable! One of my favorite stouts without a doubt! MissDolle (20), Odense, Denmark Apr 8, 2008 Tasted this of bottle a long time ago. Though, not to forget. Appearance alone with its creamy head, should give a high score.
Tasty, with big taste of chocolate and coffee, spicey hobbs and roasted malts. Delicious aroma, wich completes the beer, because its not possible to be dissapointet. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England Apr 7, 2008 Kind gift (Bottle) from my beer guru brother. And very glad he did, the best stout my dumb ass has tasted. Loads of chocolate and roasted coffee type flavours. I can see why it’s called the beer geek breakfast, my doctor wouldn’t be happy but I could use this as an eye opener each morning no bother. Superb. EHSRanders (1121), Randers C, Denmark Apr 5, 2008 Bottle. My rating no. 500. Black colour with large creamy brown mostly lasting head. Aroma is roasted malt and coffe. Sweet bitter flavor. Notes of coffe. A pungent aroma with a hint of sweetness. Roasted coffee & malt persist. Thick mouthfeel finishes with the with the coffee bitterness. Very light on the tongue afterwards - may be the only truly noteworthy aspect. Pours an opaque black with a quickly diminishing tan head. Goes well w/peanut butter-filled pretzels ;-) DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Apr 1, 2008 (3/4/08) Bottle at Kulminator in Antwerp. Bottled 4/07. Opaque black with a rather dark brown head that disappears rather fast - beautiful. Aroma of a lot of coffee, burnt tones, malt, some caramel and some hops. Flavor kicks off with some sweetness of malt, caramel, some coffee and a bit of chocolate and then turns into a strong bitterness with hops, heavily roasted malt and a bit of caramel. Full, creamy body. Great! Goodgrief (1147), Middletown, Delaware, USA Mar 30, 2008 Nov. 2007 - I finally got around to having this one! Pour was dark, dark brown, with decent head and pretty amazing lacing. Aroma smelled like smoked bacon. Flavor was strong chalky coffee, rich and flavorful. Sure, it’s sort of one-dimensional (roasted coffee), but nice beer. Some sweetness, a little bit of acidity and a rich thick mouthfeel. Nice.
