Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 4, 2007 (bottle from jb175,thanks man!)pours a thick black body with a nice full and creamy chocolaty head.as the thick head sits it leaves thick sticky looking webbing on the glass.the aroma is a little light but it blends up oatmeal, coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts.the flavor is damn never perfect.i pick up roasted coffee beans, oatmeal, chocolate, smoke, chocolate malts, and the only thing i didnt like about the brew,a small sour lactose finish.other than that this beer is simply divine!
ruskiimperial (52), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 9, 2009 This very dark beer pours a pitch black with a nice tan head which also leaves behind a nice and sticky lacing. Aroma has roasted malts and coffee. Upon first tasting there is certainly a strong floral hop profile in addition to the chocolate, coffee and the roasted barley. On the aftertaste there is also a lingering taste of dark chocolate which has a slight sweetness to it, though the bitterness overall is more prevalent. For a standard stout, this is very very delicious and complex. There are plenty of other great coffee tasting stouts out there but this one has more than just coffee going for it. Highly recommended. tgncc (798), Bellmore, New York, USA Nov 7, 2009 The nose was weaker than expected. Malty, cereal, oats, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, ash. Much less roasty and much less sweet than expected. Beautiful jet black beer, tan head. The flavor is very nice, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, slightly burnt. The finish has a slight hop bittering, piney, but is bittered from the roasted coffee as well. Beautiful thick oliy mouthfeel. Great beer, not as great as I expected. I thought I was crazy when I first noticed a slight pilsner-like quality on the nose, until I read the label. The oats come through on this to give a oatmeal aroma and thick mouthfeel. At $12-14 per bottle, I won’t indulge in this very often. DaSilky1 (1933), San Diego, California, USA Nov 5, 2009 I must say, this is a sexxxy looking beer. I dont usually like black gals, but the darkness of this beer, all the way to the deep dark brown head, made me feel all tingly inside. Those was full of milk chocolate, salted nuts, coffee, and roasted malt. Flavors are on the dry side...powdered cocoa, espresso, with american hop bite in the finish. Finishes without much lingering...so, its not much a lingerer..lingererer. This is too dry for me...i need sweetness to allow the chocolate malts to linger..this is too quick, too dry, to crisp in the finish for me to get all mushy about it. ricke (74), Malme, Sweden Nov 4, 2009 Pitch black with a beautiful brown head that settles rather quickly into a thin layer of lacings on top of the liquid.
Plenty of coffee, coffee beans and roasted malts in the nose. Chocolate, faint notes of dark fruits and some alcohol.
The taste is full of wonderful coffee flavors - espresso and freshly ground coffee beans. Big malty backbone with a strong roasted character. Plenty of chocolate, some fruity notes, minimal hint of soy sauce, licorice. The finish is fairy bitter with more notes of coffee, some wood and alcohol. The hops are restrained throughout the experience.
Full body with a very smooth texture. Low levels of carbonation.
This is a great coffee stout with a rich coffee profile. Highly recommended.

Aroma: Leather, Black berries, coffee, dark chocolat, alcohol, soya and jerky. Flavor: Black forest cake, minerals, coffee, burnt malt and dark chocolat. Palate: Full body, soft carbonation, oily with a dry finish. nate2g (1034), Brisbane, Australia Oct 31, 2009 Pours very dark brown with a large nicely laced brown head that slowly diminished. Aroma of dark chocolate, oats, hints of roasted coffee and low profile hop notes. The flavour is rich dark chocolate, oats, milk and roasted coffee. Medium bodied with a smooth and bitter mouthfeel. Finishes with chocolate malt and a slight dryness that lingers. A great stout that’s nicely balanced and very easy to drink - a mini me version of the Impy. Very nice. Bottle shared in celebration of my 27th year in existence. 01112009. Riotbeard (8), Birmingham, USA does not count Oct 30, 2009 Very good breakfast stout. The Coffee overwhelms other flavors but there are still hints chocolate and smoke. It is little less thick than other stouts. hophead21112 (110), Louisville (LEWISville), Colorado, USA Oct 29, 2009 Pours black with a thick light brown head that has great retention and very nice looking lace. Take it easy when you pour this one, the head builds fast! Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, more coffee, and a touch of sweetness from the 7.5% ABV. Flavor profile consists of coffee, bitter dark chocolate, and light smoke. Very complex. Medium-full body with moderate-low carbonation and very low alcohol warmth. A great beer overall!
