Bottle. Deep dark brown, smallish beige head, medium lacing. Amazing aroma, coffee, chocolate and malt on a faintly sour background - wild cherries? Medium body, taste and texture pure espresso, long lasting. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Heavy, black beer with a short lived tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and black coffee. Thick, oily mouthfeel, with strong flavours of roasted black coffee, dark chocolate and lingering creaminess. Very good indeed, if not a bit on the rich side for me.

Poured into a teku showing half a finger of latte colored foam that quickly dissipates and pours black, oily, and thick. The nose shows very subtle but heavily roasted coffee beans. The palate is thick, very smooth, somewhat foamy with very light carbonation. The first impression shows a lot of black coffee forwardness with a slight tartness akin to most coffee. Unfortunately it is not balanced as the flavor does not continue to the finish. As with the Weasel, most of the bitterness comes from the hops rather than having the coffee/espresso finish one might expect. The finish does show some subtle hints of the coffee/espresso but not overt.

Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast has a thin, cream-colored head, a black appearance, and a few splotchy lacing specks left behind on the glass. The aroma is of dark, slightly turned fruit, spinach, coffee, and dark-roasted barley malt. Taste is of powdery coffee, sweet black bread, char, and mellow bitterness. Mouthfeel is heavy and slightly oily. Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast finishes powdery and medium bitter. RJT

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2015 Black colour with nice brown head that disappear quickly. Nice smoked coffee nose and good coffee taste. A bit disappointed on the flavours, a little bit weak to my taste. Nice bitterness, a very good stout but I had better ones lately ;)

pours black with minimal brown head, earthly coffee aroma with a blend of chocolate and slight licorice. The smell is sweet but the taste is medium bitter and sour. It is a medium body, thin texture and average carbonation. Overall its a complex beer with a lasting aftertaste comparable to a gourmet coffee experience. Anyone with a palate for this kind of thing would find it enjoyable. Thank you Mikkeller.

Pours black with a mocha-brown head which is quite large initially but then recedes to a number of bubbly patches. Aroma roast malts, coffee and slight liquorice. Taste is coffee, roast malts, slightly woody and a hint of vanilla/oat sweetness. Medium to thick mouthfeel.

Bottles pours a dark brown, near black, one finger tan head that fades to a ring. Aromas of coffee, oats, toffee, chocolate and roasted nut. Taste is iced coffee with chocolate bearing down. Nice thick body lets the flavors stick to the palate. Wishing their was a bit more depth to the chocolate but, hey, it’s a coffee beer! Nice finish with deep oat, cereal, nuttiness pushing the coffee bitterness back to the middle. Very nice beer!
